Hi everyone,

It's been a while since I've posted here - primarily because I was progressing well on my habituation journey. Until I recently contracted Lyme disease. And then Epstein Barr Virus. It's been challenging to say the least but thank God I am able to have medical care for the Lyme and EBV and have been making slow, but positive progress. Unfortunately, I can't say the same for my tinnitus. It seems that all the habituation progress I had made has unraveled because the tinnitus has definitely gotten much loud and more annoying than it was prior to Lyme/EBV. I continue my mindfulness exercises daily, and I believe they are enabling me to cope.

Has anyone had any experience with either Lyme or EBV and managing adverse impact on your tinnitus? I'm really hoping that once the Lyme and EBV are brought under control, my tinnitus goes along with it.

Would be very grateful for any learnings or experience anyone can share who has had to deal with the same issue.

Thanks in advance,
Michael

Hi @Michael17,

Tinnitus started for me on May 22, 2023. I was in the highest stress of my life, so I have contributed to that. Just last week, I had bloodwork that showed that Epstein Barr virus has been activated. I have a functional doctor that I will meet with at the end of May, and I pray that this virus is what has been the cause of tinnitus and that we have steps to go forward.
