Medically Worsened Tinnitus

Update: I noticed something good, the ringing has taken longer to get to its point that It does through the day. It took maybe 3-4 hours! Before it would take a messily 30 mind of being awake. Another boost of confidence that this is not permanent :) I am still being cautious and looking to find earmuffs or sound dampening earbuds for this fourth of july or anytime we go out and shoot guns. havent found any yet, but still looking right now. Maybe go to walmart for some

This may be the case, but trust me if you abuse your ears... it CAN get WAY worst and make you possibly regret it. I don't have much regret, because no one educated me on tinnitus and damaging of the ears.
Hi! Today is the first day where the ringing got worse, I do not think it was the medication, but I cannot explain it. It got louder and it's harder to make it quieter. Any steps I can take to bring it back down if I can? Maybe patience? I have been laying down most of the day btw, with a 20 minute outside sit down on the porch

Tinnitus can get louder for ANY reason:

*Medication
*Stress/Fear/Paranoia
*Neck/Back issues
*Exposure to loud noise

If your routine is the same as before and you are protecting your ears, Then:

*Simply try to relax
*Not get over-stressed
*Try to possibly do something that will distract you from the louder(spike) tinnitus
*Possibly have more tranquil noise(s) around you.

Stress is a huge culprit that keeps spikes going on and on.

All of us have louder days, actually mine is super loud each day.... so for me each day feels like a never ending spike :)

I smile because there is no point, in me getting angry and fighting a volume/intensity that will never get lower. I treat it as my best friend and make peace with it...

Sleep is the best medicine against stress/tinnitus. Relaxing the brain does wonders and it can help us cope and manage even crappy/intrusive tinnitus like the one I have :)

Don't worry about the future. Do you best to make today productive, protect your ears and let tomorrow be tomorrow.

I do not know you personally, so I cannot tell you what to do to relax. What I can tell you is to NOT listen or SCAN for the noise/tinnitus. This is a HUGE mistake many make and it simply puts that fear/paranoia into their heads and things go crazy after that.

Stay calm, know that you SHALL BE OK and you CAN live your life and things will work out.....

You are truly an inspiration. Some days I feel so defeated and then I read one of your posts and I instantly feel better. I wish I had just a fraction of your "go getter" attitude! <3

This is the only way I can live my life. It is way way too complex (my life) and i cannot give in at all. I have 3 dogs and 2 of them are sick and need meds. I have to give one dog meds at almost 4 different hours of the day(every day) and not even one dose can be missed or she'll die. I honest to god don't even remember the times for their meds anymore. I have to write it on stickies and post it all over the house. My tinnitus is beyond intrusive and my hearing is profoundly bad as well.

I go to full contact martial arts and it's loud in there, people are punching bags and doing stick to stick fighting at times and I quickly put my ear plugs in. I do not have it easy by no means and I am the only one that supports me day in and day out. I either be like this or I simply sink and life crushes me.....

This is just a little part of my daily activities that I must face, there are many more......

Even with all of this chaos, I still want to come here and help those that suffer. I know my posts can make a difference and I want people to not have the tinnitus/hearing loss that I suffer with 24/7....

*How to approach relaxation.

Sit quietly in your chair, eyes closed.
Assume the demeanour of a baby.
With your lips closed, allow your jaw to hang comfortably loose, your teeth apart.
Allow the inside of your mouth to relax and go quite quite soft.
Allow your throat to soften.
Become aware that your tongue is now floating in water.
Ask your tummy to take over your breathing.....

Greetings Kert67, Welcome to the little place on the Internet We call... well We don't call it Home do We?

Anyway sounds (No pun intended) like You may be standing this rather well, I'm glad You could find This forum, hopefully You can take from this forum support and knowledge to triumph over Tinnitus and remember You are not fighting alone and You don't have to suffer it if You don't want to, Pain in life if inevitable suffering is optional, if You have a hard time just talk to folks here heck it You see a green tab on My profile picture I can lend an ear (I meant that one!) or if You want to talk to get Your mind off it, do so.

Hey so one more update: the ear infection Is gone but the ringing remains. I am going to try to see an ENT tommorow to see what it is but the general practitions was a possibly either chronic tinnitus or otitis media. I dont know, but I'm not going to pay attention to the ringing at all or hope not to lol.
