Cause of Tinnitus
Football game
I've had episodes before where after a loud concert my ears 'rang' for a while or even for a day. But in october of 2012 i went to a middle school football game with my daughter and sat near their marching band in the stands. I don't remember if my ears were ringing when we left or if they started the next day, but they have rang, in a high pitched constant monotone screech 24 hours a day, every day since then, loud as hell.

Sometimes some noises make it worse until I'm light headed. but the rest of the time...I'm just listening to the emergency broadcast system. (its actually a higher pitch)

Hi Voltron,
Welcome to Tinnitus Talk.
Might be worth getting your ears checked for wax build up and your hearing tested to see if picks a hearing problem up .
Try keep sound on around you and at night try natural sounds set bellow your tinnitus.
Your brain will work extra hard to pick up the quieter sound you have chosen and push your tinnitus sound to the background.
This helps your brain adjust as it works it's magic through the night while sleeping.
Keep posting for support ....lots of love glynis

This experience is an example of what can happen. Or what OFTEN happens.

I've thought for awhile now how it is those that have exposed their ears to adverse/damaging environments ( like a Concert ) ..and then at some point in their Life have an experience/ event that is pretty bad .....AND IT JUST COMPLETELY DOES THEM IN

It's similar to what happened to me. For MANY years i listened to high-level car audio, and then got into home audio, THEN.......... a GMC Sierra ( Research GM Bulletin # PIT5166C
had a high-pitched squeel/noise in the Cab ......And It Completely F********KED me up

The first 4 months were a living hell.

It did take 2 years to finally get over.

And over this past year, if i do anything wrong ( commit any Tinnitial SIN
..then they make noise again

Kind of similar to being too hard on your knees, just pushing them too far, and start wearing out the muscles and joint, and then you have ONE EVENT that pushes your knees into INJURY terrerity AND SO YOU THINK IT'S ONE EVENT, when the Knee has been acummulatingl slight muscle fatigue and joint fatigue, , and then having ONE EVENT that just then does them in..... And NOW YOU'RE IN PAIN ( or ringing ..for EARS

sidenote - has anyone ever used the word TINNITUS as an adjective before ? ..Tinnitial
