Yes absolutely. The mind controls every aspect of everything we do. If you think about it on a much deeper level, then the world doesn't really exist in the way we believe it does. Everything we think we know is a construct of our minds. We can't even prove if two people experience the world in the same way. All the things around us are made from atoms that are surrounded by huge swathes of empty space. So mainly nothing at all. This leads us into the incredibly complex question of 'what is consciousness?'.
Also, how can we expect to accurately measure the world around us when we are limited to seeing everything through the filter of our minds. To be unbiased, and see things as they truly are, we would need to step outside of ourselves and somehow view the world from a third persons perspective. I'm going a bit deep for a Thursday night though .
