I got another question in about hearing damage on the moviecrypt podcast I listen to every week. A sad example is set yet again on the ignorance and lack of awareness and education. The guest is Ace Von Johnson from metal band "Faster Pussycat".

When I put the ear plugs in I feel like I'm muting myself and my fingers aren't as sharp. I take them out and it's that little bit of sting that makes me play faster.

Right! That's probably because your brain wants this nightmare to be over with as soon as possible. Ignorance is a bliss!

I wonder if they made flashing ear plugs they would be used more in clubs and discos ....lots of love glynis

I'm not sure I'd draw this one up as ignorance and lack of awareness. If anything, it sounds like he knows exactly what he's doing and deciding to go ahead and do it anyways, in spite of knowing the risks associated with it, and in spite of having the necessary tools to protect himself.

Of course, what he doesn't seem to know is that he may not just get "moderate hearing loss", but something else out of this world. That part he seems to be oblivious about, but the hearing damage he is well aware of.

Exactly...a but of hearing loss is nothing, but T on the contrary...very sad that awareness is so lacking.

Drink driving - check
Seat belts - check
Unprotected sex - check
Cigarettes - check
Sugar - check
Tinnitus - zero

The reality is that society doesn't have to pick up the pieces with most T sufferers whose on,y way out is keeping themselves busy, hence productive.
