My Eyes Have Been Opened

The ambassadors of this site are making posts to help others and the more posts they make, the more members get helped and supported. Ed is an outstanding ambassador worthy of our admiration. If he should leave because of frequent posting just to prove we need to move on, then who else among the contributing members are safe from such taunting?

@Ed209 went out of his way to take the time to contact me with support when I was new here. It would be a shame to see you go Ed but I understand if life calls.

I have a hard time understanding why people who post a lot, and help the site by being supportive or giving advice to newbies who arrive daily, end up getting negativity from negative people. This makes no sense to me.

In my short time here when I think of TT and what it's all about I think of people like Glynis, Michael Leigh, Bill Baur, Ed209. None of these people need to be there. They could be doing plenty of other things with their time. They take the time to answer the same questions and comfort new arrivals daily.

Anyone who's had t for a while and gotten to the point in life where it's not a big deal but you spend time here helping others. Thank you. This site would stink if it was all people with t under 6 months. We would work ourselves into a tizzy of fear and anxiety; I can only speak for myself.

To Ed209 and all the veterans I say again. Thank you.

I would also like to say that I have really appreciated Ed209s great supportive attitude to me, together with that of some of the other veterans.

Without a cure, or even any effective treatments, there is obviously a limit to what we can actually do for each other.

I know that we can share relaxation and meditational techniques, which may help us to stay calm, but perhaps the best support we can give is to share our company, our empathy and our humanity.

I find it very interesting that many of us naturally offer our warmth and affection, designed to help others feel a little better, whereas others are happier disparaging such efforts, and making comments which are critical, negative, and often just plain nasty.

I imagine it makes them feel supremely happy ?????

....today it's a bit more subtle,
but not that much......

Ed,

You will be missed! I'm more than grateful for all the support and advice you have given me and other members here.
Please do not let bitter people here bring you down, who cares if you have written lots of posts or not. So what? I've been here when I was doing well because I felt I could try to help others, and avoided it when I both have been doing well or bad. Being here doesn't mean your advice are automatically worthless because "if you were doing sooo well, why are you here?".

I am sorry about your family and the people that passed, hope you and everyone do better soon and you are always welcome back to visit us anytime. Have fun and enjoy life Ed!

People come here either to receive support or provide support or check out how the tinnitus community is doing in general. Absolutely no reason to instigate or argue to death. For those who enjoy doing that, there are plenty other forums to do that. No need to do it here to hurt people.
