My Girlfriend Kissed on Ear — Little Spike Next Day

She did it three times, I told her please stop, it's making my ear uncomfortable, and I fear it makes my tinnitus worse.

The first was just blown on my ear opening by surprise, I felt a little ringing that lasted for a fraction of second.

Today I felt my tinnitus spiked a little, but I also ate something little salty yesterday which usually causes my spikes.

I googled and found out the Reider's kiss of deaf syndrome; a condition caused by a kiss on ear that causes deafness and tinnitus, but in their descriptions the hearing loss is severe. I have very slight hearing loss according to audiograms.

I hope this didn't cause permanent damage, could I be so unlucky.

NO you arent. It will settle soon. There is no chance this caused anything permanent.

Your ear is like 2 percent of your overall surface area. Tell her there is another 98 percent available...Ear is off limits.

Maybe it did, the spike didn't settle down yet.

It happens, its real, but its so obscure and rare as causes of tinnitus/hyperacusis go that I doubt that anyone would knowingly set out to do harm this way. They just wouldn't know.

No, they happened accidentally, even the 2 times (after the 1st one) after telling her to avoid ear; she was just in "blowing kisses mood".

Before yesterday, it spiked so badly that I couldn't sleep before 5 am, I had a work meeting in the next day and it was still screaming loudly, I finished meeting at 12 pm and then went back to home to try to sleep, I took zinc, magnesium and b12 , I succeeded to sleep between 5 pm till 7 pm, my T settled down like by 50% , I played some switch and ate a totally salt-free light dinner, and took Vessel Due F and 5mg Melatonin before going to bed early at 10:30 pm, think i fell asleep around at 12 midnight , woke up at 6 am and the T is barely audible, like it's 90% less compared to its spike version.

Very very weird, as if the the sleeping, no matter how short or long 'switches down' the T, problem is sleeping becomes hard to being with when it's spiking badly.

Lucky me, I don't get that attitude from her but I believe you, it's not uncommon among others.

It's reciprocal, she hates to be kissed on the ear too, it makes her super jumpy so I never kiss her there, so she kinda understands now my no ears rule. In fact, she was feeling guilty ever since and asking me if my spikes are settling down, she even actually thought she may have been the cause of my T ever since it started but I assured her it can't be the case, it started when I woke up from a nightmare (it would be really really sad if it's really caused by a kiss, no?).

Hopefully people will eventually realize not to kiss people's ears. I am permantely partially deaf because of this and have has non stop extremely loud low pitched tinnitus ever since. I hope yours gets better

We're technically not supposed to, i just hide it until they buy me dinner...then after they paid i just let the bomb drop and they never contact me again. It's really useful to line them up for free dinners though.

What a dick that girl was. My partner is pretty indulgent of my tinnitus antics. I hope you find somebody nicer
