Cause of Tinnitus
Had ear tube put in and it started
Had ear tube surgery at the VA in Sept.

First off if anyone out there is thinking about it DONT.

After surgery I noticed tinnitus and it hasn't stopped. This is horrible.

Has any body out there had the same experience.

My ENT has prescribed methylprednisolone, has anyone tried this for tinnitus. Help need replies.

Welcome to Tinnitus Talk .
Prednisalone should help settle any inflamation in your ears over 3 or 4 days.
Sorry to hear your struggling with tinnitus.
Keep sound on around you day and night to help distract you from your tinnitus.

Have you had your hearing checked with after care check up ?
....
Lots of love glynis

Yes hearing not great some loss.Been back to ent several times this is really starting to work on me.I am sorry I had the ear tube surgery.I think this caused my tinnitus.I just got prescribed cymbalta for nerve pain not sure if this will make my tinnitus worse. This is so bad to have.

Nortryptaline might help as works on nerves that misfire on a low dose Antidepressant 20-50mg.
Have you been seen by audiology see if a hearing aid or masker/white noise generator might help you ?
My son has had 3 ear operations and ear bones removed.
He has hearing loss but mild tinnitus now.
It could take a few months for ears to settle from ear surgery and how the brain adapts to hearing loss so fingers crossed it might calm down over time...lots of love glynis

Had ear tube surgery in sept so it's been 3 mo.Do you think it takes awhile for ears to heal or calm down I hope the tinnitus goes away I don't know.Scared.I thought about taking out ear tube but ent said I should just let it fall out on its own because it may cause more damage if he takes it out now that I don't need.I am going to try the methlprednisolone I hope it helps. Thanks for being a friend I am a artist and need my thoughts. That piece of art by my name is mine. This is how I feel right now in my head.

I think It will settle down over time and more so when tubes fall out so going be a waiting game and in the mean time do what you can distract yourself from the sound.
Time is a great healer...
Your artistic talent is lovely...lots of love glynis

I had mentioned that my doctor gave me cymbalta for nerve pain. This was for foot pain and leg pain I had read that it could cause tinnitus I don't know if I should take it but if I don't then I have leg and nerve pain.I had tinnitus before this leg and foot pain started I just don't want to make the tinnitus worse.
