So I decided to invest in a new pillow because of my ongoing neck problems. Last night as soon as my head hit the pillow I had a major hissing episode similiar to ones I'd had a couple years back when this this all started. Thankfully it settled down and although the pillow made me feel super relaxed, I still woke up very groggy.

Should I give it a few more days? I'm desperate for a good night sleep!!!!

Might be worth a visit to the doctors see if he can give you something but hope it settles down for you today.....lots of love glynis

I know how you feel Try get out in the fresh air and do what you can stay calm .
I hope it settles soon for you as it can be mental torture.
Keep sound on around you and have a few treats to lift your mood.
My ears are blasting away too....lots of love and hugs glynis

Well, I'd be inclined to get another pillow.

It was probably just a coincidence, that it began when you put your head on the new pillow, but as none of us have any idea whether your pillow could cause a spike or louder hissing or anything else then surely it's worth throwing the pillow away & replacing it with one filled with something else that is just as good for your comfort?

probably has a lot more to do with posture and/or random chance than the pillow per se.

I think so too. My neck and back are in a shocking state. As I lay there my left ear tone morphed into a very scary noise. My nerves are shot. As it cost £85, I'll have to get used to it!!!

My wife has one of those and loves it. I sleep on a memory foam triangle wedge, usually with a rolled up towel under my neck. Even if I can't actually sleep like that all night, laying in that pose for a couple hours seems to really take a lot of tension out of my neck/TMJ, and can make my tinnitus less obnoxious.
