since the age of 16 I have struggled with ear problems, I was prone to infections and spent so much time seeing various ent specialist until I was diagnosed with Eustachian tubes dysfunction which would be painful,my ears would get blocked, muffled hearing, dizziness, fluid drainage and vertigo. Ear ringing was rare for me and was something I've never experienced, obviously being a young girl I would hang out with friends by going to concerts and gigs but not realising that my ears were a lot more sensitive than those around me.even then my ears rarely rung.
It was only when my Eustachian tube dysfunction the ear ringing came but with a vengeance. In September 2015, my life changed forever when I went out clubbing and my ears ring afterwards which I thought was normal and thought would go the morning after however it didn't.
From then on my life spin out of control,I became highly depressed,my anxiety flared up and I became suicidal, taking an overdose which I luckily survived. The day I overdosed was a wake up call, because I realised that there are people out there worse off who are battling life threatening illnesses.
From then on I did the best I could to protect my ears whilst recovering from depression. I took earplugs nearly everywhere ,which meant the ringing rarely flared up and things settled. The ringing in my left ear became non existent, with the ringing in my right ear completely gone. I do get spikes which are scary but I learn to deal with it.
I have an operation soon for Eustachian tube dysfunction which is a grommet insertion as I often get glue ear and now recently I have labrythintis which had spiked my ear ringing ,making it louder. I only suffer from ear ringing in my left ear however I now have it in my right.
Is there a chance my ringing will go due to fact I believe it is related to my Eustachian tube dysfunction and is hiss sound which I only hear in complete silence.
I'm only 19 and don't know what I will do if I have this forever
Thank you for listening to my story
