@Jack Straw how's our hype for Neuromod Q & A doin'?

I am hyped and but not too hyped. I'm not sure what they can and can't say in the interview due to peer review process. Hopefully they can give us something a little more detail oriented.

I havent been doing well recently so I'm not trying to get knocked down even more so I'm being a little skeptical.

Man, I'm really sorry. This thing is pure sh!t.
I'm the opposite. The worse I feel the more I "bank" on future treatments, however illogical. But one of these days I'm just gonna straight out give up...I hope. I hate this wringing along half-dead.
Hugs bro.

Keep hanging on man something has got to come along.

looking back at the McLean presentation, it looks to me like they will grow in the right place from the images they showed.
a population of damaged but all alive hair cells will still be damaged and hearing will not improve in that region.

@Contrast but here's the thing, we know anecdotally that hearing aids sometimes reduce T, and it would make a lot of sense that a regenerative solution will be better than hearing aids.
dude, how many times do I have to tell you I want my hearing improved within the frequencies I have cochlear synaptopathy. I do not enjoy music sounding muffled.

Yes I absolutely agree, my "subtle" HL (SMH) has ruined music for me too. My point was exclusively in regards to T, not HL and music.

The amount of suffering in this world is sick.
:huganimation:

And what's even sicker: society does not care......let's use the money on warfare instead :(

Often I really don't know why I fight, to still be a part of this shitty world. I see what low priority humans and their wellbeing has in this world......it ranks so low.

they should then allow us to get euthanized if they cant come up with a damn cure.

Well, agreed, but sadly, they will never allow that.
that's babaric and dumb, why would you want to torture the researchers that care for us? It isn't an easy task obviously for biomedical research in the audiotory brain and inner ear to take place.

Why do you always write audiotory? The word is auditory.

THIS IS FOR ANY RESEARCHER READING

please be aware i am willing to impregnate someone and get her to abort so you can harvest your satanic stem cells if it means im first to get the cure

god this is depressing i can't even listen to music anymore even at low levels. highs sound like complete nonsensical garbage
do you have hearing loss on the tonal audogram? how much damage did you do to get to that level cochlear synaptopathy?

been recent so i'm not familiar with all details but yeah i have "mild" hearing loss in both ears showing on audiogram with one more affected than the other, which i'm almost certain is from too much music but i have slight balance problems which might have been because of ototoxic medication or i hope prednisone withdrawal. really frustrating having to deal with audiology being such an approximative science
i brought up hyperacusis problems to my ENT who didn't seem to care much. no pain
i'm early 20s btw

so music sounds like complete broken garbage even on low levels?
nah not all music but highs in lot of songs certainly seem all fucked and ruin the whole sound of it. this is a good example
I use an AKG702 which has a lot of spacialization it might not help when you can distinctly hear everything very clearly

I am a tinnitus treatment expert. I am offering a 25 minute session for only $200.00 as an introductory rate.
What's that? Your local doctor offers tinnitus treatment at $150.00 a session?
Well, here's why I'm better. As an expert I will accurately tell you the state of tinnitus treatments. THERE ARE NO TREATMENTS. Will your local "tinnitus expert" tell you that truth?

As an extra bonus I also won't try convince you come back another three times for nothing and then pawn you off to my kickback colleague.

DUDE! I thought I was the only one. Does your hearing dip like you are going deaf and your tinnitus gets really loud. Then over like 10 seconds your hearing comes back and the tinnitus also drops to baseline?

This use to happen to me a lot, still does but not as much.. and for no reason either.
