Going to spread this knowledge to my Tinnitus specialist on Tuesday and get shat on for doing so
No really, there is alot to be done regarding information since I really do feel that we are in an Medieval state regarding the understanding of things.
Actually I find that the change in the brain might be super connected to Depression and Depersonalization. At least for myself it feels that they come creeping in when T gets worse as the brain reacts to the change. There are some papers by Vanneste from this year where they show alot of EEG similarities between Depression and Tinnitus
They do look awfully scripted though... There is one guy there, Aidan. He looks tortured for
real. Since they are out with the videos. Why aren't any of them here on TT yet? I do hope it works though.
Also, why not have the results posted together with the patient stories...

But seriously.......I am FED UP!......I was just starting to get better at coping with T and then pain hyperacusis get worse.......Why did I dare to think I could maybe have a life with this??!! I can't and it is obviously not meant for me......I am only meant to get worse. And hyperacusis won't be treated in my lifetime........nobody gives a (serious) damn about it, so I can't even put hope in a future treatment.

I think there aren't that many conditions i wouldn't switch in a heartbeat with this. That includes Futurama Head in a Jar. As long as I can hang out with Bender it will be a blast.hopefully not too loud though.
I feel your pain sister. I am caught inbetween H T and his evil brother reactive T. What is suprising is the amount shit one can endure. Wouldn't beleive it 4 Months ago. HANG IN THERE!

Shit! Aidan looks like an extra from the walking dead. That's some real deal tortured looking motherfucker right there. But his story and his dead eyes look a lot like fucking 'habituation' to me. Why does he still look like he hasn't slept since 1998?
And why if after 4-5 years of tinnitus just 'stopping' is Patricia not bouncing off the bloody walls with enthusiasm?!?
And one of those old guys. The builder?!? He wasn't even talking about tinnitus. He just kept going on about the TV volume like he was just deaf.
These videos have left me even more undecided about this device unfortunately. It's all very sketchy and they all look a lot like this Levo publicity video which is 100% bullshit.

What sort of level of noise is painful for you DG? Sounds horrid and yep people really don't get hyperacusis. It's completely unheard of outside tinnitus sufferer circles as far as I can tell.
Yeah I got 3 main issues with it at the moment and hope my gut is totally wrong on it though:
- Peer review is not up before Patient Stories videos
- Interviews look too much publicity for me
- Over 500 patients. Yet total silence on any forum

People's voices (unless they talk in a low voice) laughter, writing on my keyboard at work.......even the faintest of sounds like for example setting a cup down gently on a table feels "sharp" in my ears.......When I am eating dinner, I have to be very gentle with handling the silverware, cause if the fork hits the plate a tiny bit too hard it is painful for me.
It is impossible to live well with at this degree

In a way that is fortunate I would say. Are you seeing some ENT´s for this? Let´s hope this Mutebutton 2 carries us through to the hearing pills.
