The hell ever happened with Frequency Therapeutics? Also their site is down.
Edit it's not

So why aren't doctors prescribing HBOT to acute tinnitus cases?
In Finland the military does send conscripts complaining of tinnitus after having been exposed to a loud sudden sound for HBOT (and sometimes steroids I think). It's considered an emergency there, treatment starts within hours of symptoms.

That's pretty good. But otherwise it's not really in mainstream use here.

Basically all kinds of emergency procedures for sudden onset tinnitus are nonexistent in most countries. If you get SSNHL at the same time, then yes, you might get intratympanic dexamethasone and HBOT etc in some places, but that's about it.

While the evidence for things like HBOT efficacy on tinnitus is not very robust, there are some studies showing some benefit if administered early enough. I wish these options - even with limited evidence base - were more often presented to patients.

Not sure. Tried contacting them regarding an interview and it didn't get very far unfortunately.

Perhaps their trials didn't go as planned. Last update was in October of 2018.

My GP laughed me off and tried to show me pictures of his family and chat when I presented with tinnitus three days after onset, no hearing test no steroids no nothing. Just referred me to an ENT, when I asked him if it was urgent that I visit the ENT ASAP he just laughed and was like "well whenever you want your tinnitus to go away just go to the ENT".
What a fckin idiot. I hope he rots in hell.

@Contrast is it weird I think of you as a mysterious man? Always lurking in the shadows ready to strike at a scam!

He is more like a cat that jumps up and rolls over and begs for belly rubs and then 3 seconds into the belly rub bites you.
I'm just a degenerate that spends to much time siting in front of a computer screen.

Agree. I didn't even know about HBOT or prednisone before I came to this site. I think the BTA should have pages of both and link to the evidence, explaining that there is limited evidence that either work, but still present it.

PTSD? We're still on TSD

Fr though, for someone who had tinnitus and lost it, it feels better than before I had tinnitus. everything sounds crisper and better
and you were wrong about having no hearing defecit, just too much of a normie not to notice.

I do know of one woman who tried HBOT early on in her tinnitus and it improved. She had something like six sessions. I did not want to risk it even though I read about it in the first few weeks because there are a number of papers that shows that a proportion of people get worse tinnitus with HBOT as well as better.
