At least (and it's still a big thing) it's for our future safety when we'll encounter some loud event that will destroy our hearing (I think that it's guaranteed sadly. Dentists, fireworks, firecrackers, alarms and so on. We live in loud times where nature and evolution did not catch up), or when it will occur because of aging. Tinnitus gets worse when hearing gets worse so at least it could save us from further worsening.

At best it would help by restoring hearing that we are not aware is gone on daily basis and audiogram can't catch and improve our Tinnitus by doing so.
Nature can't catch up, but scientific inquiry on solving the problem doesn't even bother catching up.

Commercialize? Did this already pass the trial phases?!

I thought you can't commercialize until you have FDA approval as well as sufficient trial data. Last time I saw they were still in phase 2.
Well, they've pretty much passed the safety tests and they also know how well it works to a degree. It may have worked beyond any of our expectations. This is very fabulous news.

I feel like this will be out before Lenire gets to the US. Lol.

Whatever happened to the visual snow device or treatment that was supposed to come out?
No idea, unfortunately, all I know is that they were planning to launch their glasses this summer:

Iain: Can you tell us about your research project for 2019?

Sierra: We are currently funding Visual Snow research in London, England and Melbourne, Australia. We will be funding and conducting another study in Boulder, Colorado during the summer of 2019. Separately, we are working with a team of neuroscientists and computer programmers to offer a resource that we hope will improve Visual Snow symptoms and allow a better quality of life for those who have it. We also expect this to be available in the summer of 2019. Additionally, the first trial of customized lenses is just now being manufactured. We hope these glasses will reduce Visual Snow symptoms for individuals simply by putting them on. If this is successful, we intend to make an announcement and have them available through the VSI.

If there were no criminal liability for shooting someone who scams tinnitus sufferers by selling "cures", would you feel bad pulling the trigger on such as a person?

Curious. Liam Boehm's videos are being spammed on my youtube feed.

lol, the tiny bones in the middle ear break and cause the crackling or perhaps he was never aware of the very mild TMJ he had. Either way this shows the average tinnitus sufferers intelligence.

They act like they are all special snow flakes when in reality they are just some dumb normie with damaged nerves in their ear.
