Oh good to know, thanks... in case I try it. I haven't decided yet what I'll use. Probably some derivative of Ubuntu, be it a flavour or Mint. I just hope I get a computer soon.

I think it's potentially a pain using Linux on a notebook. Unless, the integrated graphics is Intel, I think Nvidia and AMD present their own respective issues in notebooks?

Integrated graphics is bad period for anything. I got memed because of it. Go with Intel though that has historically been friendly with Linux. I myself have an issue with screen tearing on start up only that can be resolved by closing and reopening the lid of the laptop or setting a command to enter
Code:
systemctl suspend
on startup. That command I use completely solves the issue and no other instances of screen tearing occur outside of startup.

Yeah just stick with Ubuntu-based distros (preferably six month releases). I use Cinnamon, Caja, Plotinus, Rofi, and Ulauncher to interact with files and folders on my computer. These tools can be used on any modern distro. No distro ships with all these defaults, it's a custom setup I use. The point is once you know what software you need, it becomes evident that distro hopping is a waste of time. Finding favorite software is the best way to stop hopping.

I custom built my computer with an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060. I must say, building computers is really fun, even with a common folk's level of understanding. I think I could make out with my graphics card. I can't get over how big modern day graphics cards are. Unfortunately, I can't play games anymore -- those were the good ol' days.

if you want to become a hater of contrast you might as well wear a Sonus Complete tshirt.

I'm making anti propaganda to spam on the internet. So when people search for Sonus Complete this will pop up and redirect to Contrahealthscam and our thread.

I plan on building a desktop. A notebook is handy and convenient, sure, but also more expensive than a powerful desktop. The notebook tech is really improving though. AMD's latest mobile tech is really good and a modern Intel laptop is also solid. But, I bought some desktop parts already and can build something that is cheaper but rivals most mainstream laptops.

The problem I had with just one distro is there would always be some quirk or annoyance, something that wouldn't work and I had to spend some time researching how to solve it. Customizing and adding numerous software packages takes time and if anything ever goes wrong, you have to do it all over again.

So, I started looking at distros that do a great deal of customizing for you and already install a lot of software. But, I acknowledge and appreciate your points. I will probably do the same.

One of the biggest scams ever is the Coronahoax. Someone made me a T-shirt. I haven't worn it yet.

If you want to introduce people to scams or get people to think, one way is to wear it on a shirt. Sadly, not a lot of people will inquire but I thought it was a good idea.

that shirt was auto generated by Sonus Complete's affiliate marketers on their propaganda campaign. I don't think it was used for advertising.

I am not talking about advertising. I am talking about informing people about scams.

People read a shirt's message and hopefully ask about it. Then you can inform them and have a conversation. I guess it's a form of advertising but not in the commercial sense.

TIMESHIFT (The system restore of Linux) I do all sorts of stupid shit on my machine like building older or newer software and if libraries start to break I can always role back using timeshift.

make a bash script that downloads all your favorite software, and save the debian (.deb) packages that are from foreign repos. The /home/USERNAME/ folder is where your application settings are stored. Especially in the /home/USERNAME/.config and /home/USERNAME/.local folders

Tell me all the software you need and I can make a copy paste installer for you. But it will only work on Buntu/Debian. It will look something like

Code:
sudo apt install vlc nomacs kdenlive audacity bleachbit gthumb foliate

do not run unless you want to install these programs

Scientific evidence emerges that ornithiscian dinosaurs are very closely related to theropod dinosaurs (including birds) This goes against the mainstream that ornithiscian dinosaurs are closer to sauropods. The empirical evidence is basically finding direct evidence of feathers and bone structures on Triceratops relatives

This view faced all sorts of criticism but it holds up against it.

This is pretty much one of the first things that motivated me to realize science is always changing and dogmatic assumptions are everywhere. Not limited to materialism or hidden hearing loss.

Just came across earbuds made by Flare Audio, supposed to help with tinnitus and high frequency in hearing. Seemed to be a bit off, thought you might research this and give us a report on them.
Jazzer did all the work for me. lol

Neuromod you can just go in a store and Buy? $49.95.
The Mrs. found the ad on Facebook, then showed it to me. I don't use
Facebook so didn't know if this was another tinnitus scam. It's why I had asked @Contrast if he could research them, Flare Audio. He replied @Jazzer had posted something about them but I've seen no answer. They were offered at €22.95.
I don't need them but hoping to help avoid people purchasing a scam.

I respect James Randi for what he does stopping homeopathy and con men but I can't excuse this.

Sheldrake did various studies that show evidence that dogs know when owners are coming home, miles away. He suggest this is telepathy in the natural world. James Randi claimed to have "debunked" the studies done by Rupert Sheldrake. Sheldrake emailed Randi asking for the publications. He was ignored. Randi's advisory team suggest they be published. James Randi said he lost them to a flood.

James Randi bails out when physics Ph.D Dick Bierman successfully replicates Dean Radin's pre-sentiment study and brings it to the million dollar prize event.

James Randi focuses on people who make special claims. Not experimental evidence like the ganzveld experiment or pre-sentiment studies that have been replicated by independent parties.
