Why is this place such a mentally-challenged neckbeards haven

Sounds cool doesn't it? :D

More seriously, my apologies if I hurt anyone of you, threefirefpur and Contrast. The reason I used these terms is because the content you post here makes me think of what you can find on websites like 4chan, where the typical poster is a neckbeard with mental issues. I just found it funny to use this image, but I understand you could be offended, which is not what I wanted.

That's cool none of us were offended. We just thought it was funny.

Making my debut shitpost in MPP.

Welcome

Next Friday we will hit the second half of this year which means that shit hopefully starts to happen.

I'm honestly surprised I've made it this far. This is like doing a prison sentence and waiting for your parole hearing.

children growing up in war torn nations "habituate" to extreme violence and psychological trauma.

Why should we praise exploiting the limbic system from doing it's job?

TRT shills are so freaking retarded

Also, I came across this. Face of a broken man. He has suffered from tinnitus for 4 years. I bet he's not habituated, he has just learned to PUT UP WITH IT or COPE WITH IT, that's the real word I would use.

This is why we need to stop glorifying habituation. It's not the final goal. An actual treatment is the goal. Right now we're in the waiting line. Habituation is basically just sitting down and waiting for the doctor to call your name.

No need to glorify anything.
No need to discuss this old chestnut every five minutes either.
If there are therapies, treatments, activities which help sufferers to cope a little easier, then they are valid. IMHO. x

Absolutely. Feeling better about yourself is the name of the game, and although a cure would be nice, it's also unlikely. People have been waiting for a cure since cavemen first picked up rocks. Don't wait around and let your lives pass you by hoping something happens. Either try and help make a cure, or treatment, reality, or just move on with your lives as best you can. Living in limbo is just a waste and achieves nothing.

I'd rather ride the rollercoaster with a noise in my head than wait in the Drs office listening for my name to be called out. But that's just me. As you were.

I had lightweight T for 20 odd years - no problem.

Heavyweight T for 4 years. A real problem.

The difference was not Habituation - the difference was 'intensity / volume.'

This is why I am dubious about 'resounding - flag waving - apochraphal success stories, by would be messiahs.'

But the rider is - if relaxation, meditation, other treatments offer some ease, why not develop them?
