When people say it's 90% mental (which I fully understand what he's saying btw) I thinks it's wrong

I don't like using that term, when it is referred that way. Tinnitus is a struggle I know it, we know it, those that are afflicted know it. Tinnitus has made us change our ways of living, the ways of our thinking and our actions towards a stimuli, I know it, we know it.

I read so so many posts on this site from newcomers and their frustrations with tinnitus. It's a shock and many cannot see how they will live with noise coming out there heads. I fully get it, I was in their shoes and I was frustrated as well.

When I got tinnitus 31 years ago, I was just like many on this site. I was looking to get rid of the ringing. I bought pills, tried many things and in the end I was disappointed. Even though I never found a cure to get rid of my ringing, I kept trying ways to make my life manageable and to find ways to live with this new reality of mine. It's all about trying and making proper adjustments to live with tinnitus.

I have had to lose lots of friends that did not respect that my ears hurt and they ring. I had to educate many people that use to laugh and not respect the ordeal that was going on.

I had to rid myself of family that would not respect my situation. It's all about seeing what helps us in life and what does not.

The keyword here is - "Trying". Did I have energy to keep trying, honestly not all that much. The tinnitus had mentally drained me and had me exhausted.

Some may like what I post and take it to heart, some may not, but one thing is not deniable, I had to live with this ordeal for 31 years and it has gotten worst for me due to the loud sound exposures that I have been associated with.

I still have to make adjustments in my life, I still have to plan ways to not make my ringing worst.

That's all I'm saying in my posts. I simply say that this guy has beyond intrusive T and beyond horrible hearing and he is able to live a life. It's not about being better or mentally stronger. It's about a glimpse of hope that it may give someone to see someone like me living a life and they can say "hey, he is motivating me". I get many messages from people that get motivated. People say, "thank you for your posts, you made a difference in my life".

That's my point of coming to this site, nothing more, nothing less :)

I think I do, but maybe you could spell it out for me so I don't get it wrong (not being sarcastic honestly)
I mean honestly MPP isnt an enigma or some exclusive club. It's basically a separate microculture on TT. There's a lot of overlap but MPP is culturally unique. If you go on TT you mostly get MPP but yeah as the guy above said it's a learning curve.

So you have SSHL in one ear and low hum in the other? That stops when you plug your ear or for a second while you move your head left-right? Or stops for a day after a long bus ride? Just checking. We started multiplying recently. I wish we could draw some conclusions.
No I just have a constant low hum in my good ear for no good reason. Luckily nothing compared to the shitstorm in my other ear

I wonder when a cure comes out individuals like @Michael Leigh will use it

No. I will not for I am content with my tinnitus as it is even though it can ramp up to severe levels. It took me 4 years to habituate for the 2nd time and my tinnitus sent me to hell and back. I have improved and I'm content.

Someone I know has noise induced tinnitus and I advised them not to try Neuromod. This person went ahead and used it. I do understand because when a person is in distress they will try almost anything to get relief. However, I was apprehensive as Neuromod uses headphones and plays audible tones through them. Now this person's tinnitus has got a lot worse and has contemplated suicide on more than one occasion. Neuromod may work for some people but I advise them to be careful if they have Noise induced tinnitus.

I am satisfied with my tinnitus and will not rock the boat.
Michael

This is genius. He's funny and he's an ENT and he wouldn't say "hope this helps more than it confuses" all the time like Dr N. Dr N is ace and will get big points in heaven for helping so many people but is maybe just a tad patronising on the odd occasion

@JohnAdams I think you fail to understand how someone with severe tinnitus might be panicked over the idea of a potential treatment making things worse.

I wish you good day and you are now blocked (I don't know how to do that but you are)

I hope this confuses more than it helps. Got to go cos my youngest just threw up. Nothing stops you thinking about tinnitus more than clearing up someone's sick.

Why are you so afraid of hair cell regeneration drugs. Is there any evidence yet that they can worsen tinnitus?
