My Posting Place

No grey hairs
I'm in my mid 30's and I have many white hairs growing out of my beard.
I am British

If you have ever lived near a busy motorway/expressway, train station etc; at first you might find it difficult not to focus on these external environmental sounds. You may even have difficulty sleeping. As time passes the brain is able to ignore these sounds and gradually pushes them into the background. The sounds are still there but no longer at the forefront of the mind.
I know I would never get used to it. I also know that some/most people can get used to it. For them - it might be "mental".

This is like saying "if you want to be happy, be happy." Some people require their life to be objectively good in order to be happy. Others can be happy even when their life is objectively bad. I think what determines what group one is in is 99% nature/genetics and 1% nurture/mental.

@threefirefour,
an urgent matter has come before the court. @85dB T has challenged the papacy over my beard. He claims that I am not the Pope but rather the Orthodox Patriarch of this hell hole. If his charge is with
merit I will have to photoshop on a different hat and change location.

I am calling a Sacred Synod.

This is who Michael basis his made up online persona on, it's hilarious she's from a UK show called "keeping up with appearances" what a right cockwobble he is eh.
I know the show, I love it :LOL: The funny thing is we have a suburb here in Melbourne called Brighton, and it is also by the sea and people from this area usually talk with that plum in their mouth

I have a wicked sense of humour as you know, but my last few posts might have come across as a tad violent, geez, I fried someone in one, and kangaroo punched in another, I am very placid really, well most of the time!

To show I am into spreading the love I am currently working on the riverside supper invitations with riparian entertainment, I'll be sending these out to Tinnitus Talk members shortly. Maybe we could just have a picnic by the sea :)
So @Michael Leigh, loosen your tie, put the kettle on, we are expecting coffee, Ill bring the scones.

You should share your position with the other patriarchs, 3fire4 and contrast. You can claim apostolic succession as well as "first among equals". It's mostly about more bling and an awesome beard though.

when i first wake up in the morning i experience fear dread and existenial crisis.

I don't think it's relevant to compare people with tinnitus that want to go to shows with rapists
The people in both groups just do what they feel like doing, without thinking about the consequences. Both ought to keep in mind that if they can't do the time/live for the rest of their life with louder tinnitus, they shouldn't do the crime. If this isn't the case, then what is it that I am missing?!

Each person is different and as I have always said no two people will experience tinnitus the same. The statement that I made below may not apply to you and others that have agreed with you. However, the majority of people affected with tinnitus it does apply to. Many people seeking help for tinnitus that have become members of this forum, may stay here for 6 months to a year then you never see them again. Marcus, the member I wrote a post about, was a frequent visitor to this forum night after night well into the small hours of the morning. His life was in total turmoil and convinced he wouldn't get better. When you have time people read the story again, how within a year his life turned around and now he helps people in this forum: https://www.tinnitustalk.com/threads/from-darkness-into-light.22234/

Tinnitus is a very common condition. Ask a friend, relative or people that you associate with at work whether they have ever been affected by tinnitus. You will probably be told: Oh, I have that it was a problem at first but I got used to and now it doesn't bother me.

That is all I am prepared to say on this and realise and understand where you are coming from and respect your point of view.

Michael
