I'll try and keep it short .

I've been reading this forum for about a month scowering for information that pertains to my situation but with little results .

My ringing happeded from noise either a gun range and i was using protection . Or a wet vacuume I use to clean floors . It failed and let a massively shrill noise for a solid minute before I could get it turned off. . I have good hearing says ent and I had T from a previous noise incident that clearwd itself up in 2-3 weeks back in 2011.

In short my perception of my T over 58 days has improved . So hibituation is possible altho i thoigh no way I cant get used to this I'm still not but it's 60% better so improving mentally.

[[ cant always mask it sometimes the T raises it's volume to be heard above masking]]

I notice sometimes ( very rarely)I cant really hear my T but it's still there only very very soft like a gentel hiss lasts for a little but not long 10 minutes tops. Other times ( most times)it's pretty high pitched ringing left ear more than right but both have it hear it in my head more than the ears id say. At least thats how ot seems . It does change tones sometimes i notice its quiet other times louder. I have decent days and bad days.. could I be improving slowly or is hibituation the key factor here . As I write this it is screaming at me . Anyway. As I read this back it sounds like many other storys I've read . Just looking for any or sone insight .

Thanks folks .

Ps. I have spread the word to family and friends to protect their ears . Dont know how good ya got it till you don't have it . And to please give to the ATA .

Welcome to Tinnitus Talk .
When you don't notice your tinnitus from a few minutes to a few hours you will start to habituate.
You might still hear your tinnitus but if it does not bother you and no unwanted emotional reaction to your sound and can get on in life as before then you would have cracked it.
It can take a while with tinnitus that varies day to say but for most people it will happen and might just have a few problematic days when your tinnitus reaches a higher level like a spike.... lots of love glynis

Sounds like you're well on your way to habituation. Keep up the good work. 58 days is still pretty new to T and it sounds like you've already got a handle on it and that's pretty impressive.

Thanks folks .

I appreciate the replys.

Hibituation is fine .my T is bothersome and has changed my lifestyle but I try and not let it get to me. I take the quiet moments to relax, and remember the quiet moments when it's bad. Seems to help . I use the hope that sometimes it's quiet and sometimes it's loud as a omen that it may go in to remission one day. some mornings its less intrusive cant tell if it let up a bit or I'm hibituating well that day . I feel it improves from time to time. I have dodged the T bullet back in 2011 after 2-3 weeks or ringing. It did go away 98% . But now I'm settling in for the long haul on this last exposure.

Again thanks for your replys.
