Tinnitus Poem

While jet lagged in Lisbon, a virus of hate
flew into my ears and settled my fate.
A circus of sounds befuddled the brain
I couldn't escape this maddening reign

I pleaded with doctors to take it away
They issued their bills with "have a nice day"...

Finally found hope right on this site
From others who shared their lives and sad plights

I wasn't alone, and I would be schooled
In patience and earplugs...anxiety cooled

So don't despair, it can get better,
Habituation and time, etcetter etcetter
