I would like to share a strange experience with you which happen to me last year...
I got tinnitus since more than 2 years now and everyday I think about it as I do not sleep properly anymore.
Last year, I had the opportunity to take part of the clinical trial from Auris Medical.
Part of this protocol, I had 6 times injections of a product my right hear :
- First 3 injections was either the "AM-101" or the placebo
- Last 3 injections was the "AM-101"
At the end of the day, this protocol was not successful for my tinnitus (no effect).
But the experience I would like to share with you is the following:
During one of the injections, the doctor inserted the needle in my right eardrum in order to inject the product ("AM-101" or the placebo). And just before injecting the product in my right eardrum, while the needle was into my eardrum, I had the feeling that my tinnitus disappear for few seconds. I had the feeling that the doctor put the needle exactly in the right point to stop the tinnitus. This was just before he pushed the syringe to insert the product into my right eardrum... I do not remember exactly but the needle was approximately 1-2 cm long.
So I do not know if my feeling was true or not but I did not experience the same on the other 5 injections.
But I know that the doctor tried to chose different entry point of my right eardrum for each injection.
This was my experience I would like to share. It is not exactly a "success story" but for few seconds I really had the feeling that my tinnitus disappeared.
