Hi guys,

I have been suffering from tinnitus for over 8 months now and I had hearing loss in high frequencies in left ear so I have a high pitched sound that started in left ear to head to right ear.

The first 6 months was hell for me. But after 6 months things started getting better. Tinnitus started fading very slowly and I think I am in the road of full recovery in 2 years thats 16 months to go. Currently I am 32% better dont have any panic or anxiety, very rarely. The sounds are still bothering me of course if I am not busy and at night but I am glad that it is fading away very slowly.

I have a question. Can I use ear pieces to listen to music when I am working or at the gym?

You can use ear pieces as long as you don't have the volume too loud.

How do you determine the 4% monthly improvement? It's a very precise number??

It is based on the 8 months time where my T has improved like 30%. And it is been verrrrry slowely improving every months. If you divide 30 by 8 u will get the 4% number rounded of course.

In the course of recovery I have many health plan that wilonhelp like ketogenic diet, getting 10% body fat, improving my blood profiles like cholesterol, etc..

As for supplements I am taking Vitamin D3 + K2, Omega 3, magnesium, multivitamin, probiotics.

I didnt take any anti panic medications like xanax because I believe it will not help long term.

let your body works optimally and I am sure it fix itself.

Hey mate

Good to hear youre making improvements, keep up the positive attitude and you'll be right.

It makes me feel better about my own tinnitus when I read stories like your own.

Starting the ketogenic diet tomorrow for 6 months, time to defeat tinnitus once for all! Lets do this!

The ketogenic diet has effects on the potassium channel in neurons which their malfunction cause the ringing.

I really like you positive attitude and methodical approach to reduce or triumph over T. Congrats and keep us updated on your progress.

I beleive that to defeat tinnitus you need to make your body funtion optimally.

This is what I am gonna go on in the next 6 months:

1- get 10% body fat and building some muscle
2- using intermittent fasting which is not eating for 18 hours daily only water or coffee
3- ketogenic diet
4- detoxification including 3l of water, greens juice, and chewing one teaspoon of coconut oil this will kill bacteria in ur mouth
5- supplement with vitamin d3 + K2, magnesium + B6, probiotics, omega3
6- Drinking at night herbs like camomile, tilleul, etc.

I am gonna bring tinnitus to its knees.

Hey @joseph Ghass , I like your thinking. Just a note: I've got a good ENT, even published some scientific studies on Tinnitus. He told me it's not a good idea to stay hungry for a long time. He explained to me in layman terms, it has something to do with the replacement of nutrients in the ear area. According to him the ear is one of the first regions to be deprived when we go hungry, that's why T my sound louder after we exercise. He told me exercise is good, but to never go hungry.

Hope it helps, keep up the good work and let us know how it goes.

Day 3 into the ketogenic diet, dropping water and fat. The full benefit will kick in in about six weeks so we will see.

the sounds are moving slowely into the background but still having periods of spikes.

My target is to minimize T to 2/10.

Love your attitude man, I'm starting to think that way too

Thanks man, tinnitus is a beast! All we can do is to minimize it to a level where it doesnt bother us.

Day 9 on keto, having periods of 2/10 and thats a good indicator.

Will get full benefits in 6 weeks.

It is you and me Mr. T!

@joseph Ghass
I like your tread, it seems very interesting, I am also going to do what you are doing now ...
please can you telle me what's the cause of your T ?
The main cause is hearing loss due to few loud sound exposures.

yeah go ahead, let nutrition be your cure.

Try to get daily:

1g DHA, B12, magnesium, a multivitamin.

if u plan to start keto diet let me know to help u out in food selection.

make sure to eat lots of green leafy vegetables.

And never take any drug that affect your nervous system. This is a mistake most fall in and they ask why their tinnitus is still loud after few years.

thank you
I have to start the keto diet now ,my tinnitus started when I gained weight I think this is the cause of my T , trobalt makes my tinnitus very low but I don't want continue with this drug beacause it has a nasty side effect if I use it in long term.
I am very interesting in keto diet ,please can you tell me how can I start ?

Day 11

Increased coconut oil to 3 tbsp per day. This will enhance ketones production. The brain will start slowely feeding from ketones. 6 weeks for full adaptation.Only 30g of carbs from vegetables!

Sounds range between 6/10 and 2/10 periods. Aiming for periods of 0/10 in 6 weeks!

I am gonna show T its worst enemy, Silence! Lol

weight down to 95kg was 98kg. Target 90kg as I am building muscle too.

Feeling some dizziness throughout the day. Normal, the brain is now short in glucose and adapting to use ketones.

Planning a 1 year of keto for overall health.

Working on improving my gut health too.

Doing some research on the autonomic nervous system to optimize it.

Habitation is kicking in. Few episodes of emotional anxiety and less intense spikes.

4 weeks for full adaption for ketones.

9 months in and hell has almost vanished.

My T timeline:

Month 1 to 3: left ear high pitch sound 8/10

Month 3: right ear started hissing 3/10, left ear 8/10

Month 9: left ear 3/10, right ear 6/10

Predicted timeline

Month 12: left ear 2/10, right ear 5/10

Month 16: left ear 2/10, right ear 3/10

Month 20: left ear 2/10, right ear 2/10

Month 24: left ear 1/10, right ear 1/10
