My Tinnitus Went Away! It Does Go Away

GBB:

I hope that everything will settle down for you. I hope you start to feel better about things even though it all looks like an uphill battle.

You mentioned Xanax, and not wanting to take it. Have you considered other kinds of things that might help to level things out - magnesium, holy basil, lemon balm,
l-Theanine? Just some ideas.

Thanks, I have actually tried those and they do provide some marginal benefit, but it still remains hard for me on a day to day basis. I appreciate the positive wishes.

Unfortunately doctors and even ENTs have very little knowledge of tinnitus.

When I first went to a doctor and told him I got ringing in my ears from taking Amitriptyline just said "no". I explained how the ringing went way down once I stopped and then came back several hours after taking it once again a few days later. He just "no, not possible" and wrote on a referral form that I had hearing loss and noise damage...
Some of them are so conceited and they will assume whatever lines up on paper is more accurate than any EXPERIENCE you have of you OWN symptoms... if your symptoms conflict with what they have already decided based on what is on paper or on screen, then you are imagining it.... they think ANY condition can be caused by the patients own inherent mental weakness and hypochondria but it is IMPOSSIBLE for anyone to heal or improve any condition by the same mechanism...
