- Single 25 mg dose of (anticholinergic) drug Promethazine
I just ran across a product (NasalCrom) that apparently can be a very viable alternative to traditional antihistamines, nasal sprays, decongestants. Many of the traditional drug approaches to allergies are anticholinergic, thus being ototoxic to varying degrees. I haven't tried this product myself, because I use a nasal irrigator regularly, and do not have any sinus or allergy problems.
However, I developed major tinnitus & hyperacusis from a single dose of an anticholinergic drug, so I have a special interest in letting others know of alternatives to taking anticholinergic drugs. I've read stories of this happening to others as well. One man took one dose of benadryl, and four years later was still suffering from tinnitus. Below is a link to the article where I read about NasalCrom...

What do you take for your allergy symptoms? Antihistamines? Steroid nasal sprays? Decongestants? Have you ever heard of NasalCrom (cromolyn sodium)? It might be a good choice.
