Nearly the Weekend!

It'll be my second time going clay shooting (thanks @Hudson for the tips!).

You might think it's loud and irresponsible, but with double hearing protection I don't feel it's too loud to harm me. And I did enjoy it the first time! Weirdly relaxing.

Other than that, probably the usual, watching a movie or two, thinking what new things to come up with for Tinnitus Talk, developing Tinnitus Network (possible autumn launch in mind), and so on!

It's interesting that UK's school breaks start this late in July. In Finland the summer break is from the beginning of June until about the middle of August (or until beginning of September for those attending universities).

Do you have a vacation at the same time with your girls?

Enjoy your weekend & holidays!

Saturday's going to be a scorcher. And so my boyfriend and I are going on safari!:) There's a safari/petting zoo near my home with lions and tigers and bears (oh my)! We'll probably pet a few zebras and camels, throw some kisses at the big cats, then head back--where we'll place homemade pizza on the grill and pop open a few summer ales.

Summer is the best of times! :p

Sounds good Jazz! where r you from I wonder ? Uk is hot at the moment for a change normally rains and rains ......

I've heard other places the school hols are earlier than here in the Markku but its always been since I was at school late mid July they break up and go back first week sept. A holiday would be lovely but we moved house last year and that's made the purse strings a bit tight to afford a holiday. Lots of days out planned and a trip to London - then next year if we save up I dearly want to take the girls back to USA we had the best hol ever 2 years ago there and I want to go back ! I did clay pigeon shooting once on a hen weekend ! Was useless at it and tbh a bit scared - hope you enjoy and why not life is for living ;)

Enjoy

I'm in the US. We usually have hot summers, but this has been exceptionally hot!

I am in New York City and we are having a heat wave. I'll be heading to the countryside (Upstate, as we call it here) on Saturday with my wife and kids. Swimming in the lake should cool us off!

-Golly

Golly, I think it is even hotter where you are than here in tropical South Florida. We are going to community theater with friends because it's too hot to be outside, even at night. Small theater = not too noisy. Happy weekend to all!

the mountains nearby.

I am jealous. For me, mountains are vaguely mythical and majestic objects you see on postards or documentaries. :)

I am calmy enjoying my new apartment with a stupid smile. I had to go back to ugly Brussels but i have found a calm place. I am very lucky. There is a big chestnut tree in the gardens and i have the perfume of the leaves when i let the window open :)

I really enjoyed this thread last week. It was nice to see those of us with T getting out and living our lives. It also was nice to learn more about you all. Thanks Cher! Let's do it again...

This weekend I get to see a dear friend who I miss and haven't seen in a long time. Can't wait to give her a big hug. Hope you all have good weekends

I've finished work for 2 weeks fab feeling ! Today I'm off to York races fingers crossed we back some winners then the kaiser chiefs are playing after the races finish. This weekend we head to London off to a theme park called Thorpe park with my 2 daughters who r trying to persuade me all go on all the roller coasters ! It's a packed few days for us and I have my ear plugs ready ;) xx have a lovely reunion with your friend @LadyDi xx.

It's worth pointing out that last year, I stopped my wife booking a holiday because I couldn't face it; that was in lowest point of my T. I got back on my feet and we did eventually go. Thanks for the "likes" chaps.

I am giving u a like too, DezDog. Have a great time. I "got" my T coming back on a plane from our dream vacation (or at least I think I did) so hope I won't be shy about traveling in the future.

And hugs @Cher69. You always are on the go.

@LadyDi omg I've survived the roller coasters and yes I did them all except one !!! And I am convinced my T stopped that night I forgot to put my phone onto the masking noise I use we were staying a couple of nights in a local hotel to have a few nights away from home - I didn't set my phone and I didn't need it for one night I slept no noises to mask it and I don't remember hearing my t !!! Maybe it was the wine or the thrill of the roller coasters but I had a night off !! Think maybe I just ignored it and a combination of fun and wine and relaxing - so maybe it's a good sign to us all !! Live life to the max and push this T thing to the background where it belongs ! Xx

You are an inspiration, Cher. What a dream vacation...coasters AND a break from T!
Oh and BTW... Not that I make it a habit but I find some wine does quiet my ears. Cheers!

Well I spent another weekend walking my dog Dylan in the Yorkshire dales 7 miles a well deserved beer at the end and some biscuits for Dylan ! Then a snooze on the car while hubby drove home - pizza tea for us and girls quick and easy now Sunday I've planned nothing if the weather is kind to us I'm relaxing in the garden

Hi, Cher and everyone! I hope you're all having a great weekend.

As for me, I'm going to be babysitting my little grandson this evening. He is 20 months old, and a little cutie! Earlier today, I went on one of my long walks (about 3 miles), and I'm proud of myself for keeping that up (I'm 67 years old).

Tomorrow, if the weather is good, I'm planning to be outdoors as much as possible, maybe doing some gardening, and going for another walk.

Happy weekend to all!

Happy weekend Cher, Karen and all!

I am on Florida's west coast visiting family. We all had a wonderful dinner outdoors last night. Tomorrow is a big day for me. I primarily here to see the main inner ear expert at U of South Florida, as I continue to try to chase down what caused my T and possible treatments. But this is kind of my last stop on the miracle cure/answer path. If he says there are no underlying causes we are missing and no real hope it will go away, I must move onto the acceptance/management path.

Hi, Lady Di,

I wish you success at the University of South Florida, and I hope the specialist is able to determine a cause and possible treatment for you. But, if not, there are still many reasons to be hopeful! For most of us, tinnitus really does improve with time, and there are many possible treatments on the horizon that may some day yield a cure.

Best wishes, and I hope you enjoy the rest of the weekend!

Karen

Thanks @LadyDi,

I hope things get better for you very soon (and there's a really good chance they will) and you're back jetting off to more dream vacations.
