Hi everybody!
I found this forum from googling and it seems like a great place so i created a user.
I was wondering if anybody could give me some advice on my situation?
I am not sure what exactly is the cause of my tinnitus.
Excuse me if i use some words (medicinal terms or other) incorrectly. My mother language is danish, my secondary language is english.
I got assaulted on 24/06/2017 (24'th of june, 2017). I tried to get away but could not run fast enough, i got two punches on my own right side of the skull. One on the upper side of the skull and one more one, closer to the temple. I also got an arm pressed down on my throat before somebody intervened and the police came.
I was extremely disorientated when the heartless cop tried to force me to tell what happened and my saliva production had completely stopped. My mouth was so dry i could not move my tongue around so it was very hard to speak.
I did not have any signs of concussion.
July passed and when july the 30'th came around it was my birthday. I was at home in my parents house, i was resting, lying on my stomach, with my left (left chin from the perspective of my own eyes) chin resting on the couch (my point is, i was twisting my spine). So i got up, because dinner was ready. I took one sip of champagne and when i was about to sit down i got a massive pressure in my left ear(and somewhat in my head) and i felt VERY uncomfortable. I felt i was very close to fainting but i held on to the table and kept eating.
My sister drove me home and when i got home i tried naively to clean out the ear with something called remowax(it cleans the ear canal from wax). So i was lying on my right side with this liquid in my left ear and i got up to clean it out with warm water. This is when my tinnitus started on the my right ear, the one i had not treated with Remowax.
Well i was still very drowzy and tired and i went to bed, hoping the hissing would be gone in the morning when i woke up. I woke up the next day and it was still there.
Symptoms after this incident:
In the period after this incident in my parents house i have had a lot of dizziness,vertigo and i would feel
nauseous all of a sudden and the nausea would subside pretty quickly too.
I have had and still have some kind of pull and what feels like pressure on one of my cranial nerves.
Also i have had a very stiff neck on the same side of the tinnitus ear. I have tendons(or maybe ligaments?) that are very tight, on the "border" between the neck and the skull.
My jaw has also started clicking.
Some days after this incident my lymph node close to the ear lobe got swollen. It's swollen but it's not tender.
Maybe one month after, another lymph node in the back of the skull has swollen up, it is also not tender when i touch it gently.
Description continues:
I got an appointment with a very good ear/nose/throat doctor. He tested my hearing with a "normal" hearing test and the results did not worry him that much. He then tested my hearing with a device that sends vibrations through the mastoid bone. Those results worried him a bit more.
I talked with him afterwards and he said to me that he wants to check if i have a benign tumor on my hearing nerve. I have now been MRI scanned on both my brain and my middle ear, no tumors could be seen.
Hummm, okay i am happy that i don't have any tumors.
I have talked to a very good physiotherapist, i described my symptoms and she said it could be a locked cervical vertebrae. Unfortunately this physiotherapist could not accept new patients but i have found a different physiotherapist that i have started to go to. Last time i was there, my tinnitus was significant
lower and "broader".
I don't know if this tinnitus is because of
* Locked cervical vertebrae
* A blocked eustachian tube
* My jaw clicking
* That i have ignored my dust allergy throughout the summer and it somehow has created a sinus infection that i cannot get rid of because of a blocked eustachian tube.
Or maybe something completely else.
I am sorry if it is a lot to read.
3 doctors have not been willing to help me. I am becoming quite desperate. I try to have hope each day but my life is very hard now. I have suffered from clinical depression since i was 12, i am now 34 and tinnitus + clinical depression is a very dangerous cocktail for me. I try my best not to go into the victim-role but it's hard.
Can anyone give me any guidance or tips ? Maybe rule something out.
