Neurofeedback for Tinnitus

Has it worked for you? I've started a course of 24 sessions, and I really hope it helps. I'm not expecting it to eliminate my symptoms completely, but I would love to see a significant reduction. Any updates would be greatly appreciated.
@ErnieMassri, hey there!

I'm so excited to see someone posting who is currently doing this! I've been considering it for a long time but haven't come across many people with tinnitus who reported good results. My psychologist has been really encouraging me to try it. He believes that because I can easily do self-hypnosis, I'm a good candidate. He's also familiar with the Vanneste protocol for tinnitus.

Where are you located? I'm in Asheville, NC. There's a clinic here where I could try this—if I can just work up the courage (and the money). I'm rooting for you so much! Please keep us updated.

Hello Katie,

I am in the Florida Panhandle and undergoing treatment in Fort Walton. So far, the results have been mixed, and I have been experiencing some side effects, which are apparently normal before adjustments are made. I have not come across others doing Neurofeedback specifically for tinnitus either, but my doctor is quite confident it will help. We will see.

I am hoping for a reduction in my symptoms; specifically the loudness of the ringing and the spikes. The tinnitus itself is not the main issue; it is the loudness and intrusiveness that are problematic.

I will keep you posted, but it is still too early to tell.

Kind regards,
Ernesto

@ErnieMassri, I am really hoping you find some relief! I agree it would be easier to cope with tinnitus if the volume could be dialed down. I have had mine for 12 years, and it is extremely shrill and loud. It also seems to get louder as the years go by, with lots of spikes. Fingers crossed for you! 🤞🤞

Hello Ernesto,

Thanks for your posts. I'm about to start Neurofeedback. May I ask which kind of side effects did you experience?

Thanks for your answers :)

Kindly,
Arnaud
