Tinnitus Since
2010
I'm 27 I've had tinnitus for 6 year and it's gradually got worse and worse I have multiple different tones in both ears I find it hard to count them.

I was habituated after those first few years and coping but all that changed

In the summer last year I developed pulsatile like tinnitus that reacted to noise which would make it more intense/rapid I went through hell trying to cope and adapt but now in the past two weeks I have started to develop this all together new thing where I can now hear multiple tones from my tinnitus from outside sources of sound I can hear different tones from the PC fans I use as white noise maskers they differ in pitch/volume depending where I move my head I'm getting this from all sounds( tv,hoover, fridge, etc) now where I pick up the specific tones from my tinnitus.

Please does anyone know what this is??? I've been sensitive to certain frequencies since I got T but NOTHING like this. I'm at a complete loss it's hopeless speaking to my doctor or ENT they have no form of reference to what this is like they always tell me the same thing to learn to live with it and that I'm overreacting, I feel completely alone.

I'm at the point now I'm starting to think of ways to commit suicide I feel horrible for what it will do to my family but it's the only way that I can see of escaping this. I have looked so many times throughout the years at the research page in some hope that there might be a cure or treatment coming but in reality I know that it's not going to happen in my life time I just wanted to habituate but it just gets worse and worse

I know what you are talking about. I have had that too. It would happen when I flushed the toilet and heard applause on TV. It went away and that was when my T wasn't as bad as it is now. I think it is in part related to anxiety. My guess is that it will go away but it might come back.

I have that too.
I'd say it had faded a bit there are one or two tunes that I use to ear on top of other sounds that I don't hear anymore. But the others are persisting...
Same thing as you it changes when I move my head

If it's your nerves backfiring you might find Nortryptaline helpful at a low dose .
It can help calm tinnitus down for some people and really helping me ...lots of love glynis

Tom, I'm not getting the exact same thing as you but I have multiple tones which have worsened over time. I too get suicidal thoughts as it seems there is no way out at times. Why it has worsened I don't know for sure. I try to think of my kids and I just take one day at a time. Keep hanging on in there. A breakthrough could come at any time. You've got through these past years. You are stronger than you realise.
