New Here... Had Tinnitus for 39 Years. My Volume Just Spiked Not Sure Why?

I think it's common that opening the jawn, especially when yawning effects people's T. If you have T specifically and only related to muscular/TMJ issues this may mean it can be treated/cured. But as far as I know it is common for people to have increased volume of their T when yawning regardless of how it is caused, even acoustic trauma.

I think you should go to see two specialists for a professional, clinically-based opinion. First, I would go see an Oral Surgeon for your TMJ and next make an appointment to see the ENT, who will check your ears and your hearing. Good luck!

As the others have said get checked out for TMJ by your dentist and have your ears checked for wax build up or infection and a up to date hearing test.

Glynis, Thanks for your encouragement. My ENT said all was okay from his perspective and to come back in a year for hearing test as I have slight loss in right ear. I've been using AudioNotch for a week to try to lessen volume which is driving me nuts!
A hearing test from an ENT won't do much, as there can be hidden hearing loss. Tinnitus has been proven to be hyperactive neurons, from mice tests. We have to restore the timings of the neurons or reduce their excitability. It is a neurological condition which stems from the brain.

Thanks for your comments and information. How can I reduce the excited neurons? I've heard about retraining the brain . It's my understanding the folks at AudioNotch are attempting this with their app which I'm using but so far it seems to be INCREASING my tinnitus volume
