Cause of Tinnitus

Hi everyone I'm 27 years old and have had tinnitus in my left ear for two months now. In what started out as just vibration in my left ear for about a week led to seeing two doctors who told me it was just an ear infection (redness in my ear), I'm still dealing with a vibration sound even after antibiotics took away the infection which caused me no pain at all.

Fast forward to today, I'm currently waiting to see an ENT in a month. I have noticed my tinnitus is worse when I play sports which could be pulsatile but also if the vibration does go away it comes back with noise or when I speak.

I have seen a lot of people say they have trouble sleeping but when I'm laying down it seems to take it away and my sleeping patterns have not changed at all besides the fact that I know once I get up the next day I'll have the vibration again. Some days I have facial pain and headaches.

I've seen a lot of great posts here so far and ideas to try out to reduce inflammation among other things that I can't wait to try to hopefully give me some added relief as opposed to sleeping.

I'm concerned it could be something to do with my teeth and jaw but dentist says it could just be clenching definitely need to get a second opinion for that. Im also overweight which could be a contributing factor.

Also before this happened I was a qtip user so tons of things could be causing the problem.

If anyone has any advice feel free to reply to this and I hope one day everyone can be cured of this problem whether you have a mild case or severe.

@Corey E ,
Welcome to Tinnitus Talk.
Your dentist could make you a mouth guard that takes pressure off your jaw at night and stops teeth clenching or gringing and could help you.
Love glynis
