Anybody from the UK see the news yesterday?
Age related macular degeneration treated by stem cells to a few patients, while not a cure, a guy who was pretty much blind was able to read 60 words a minute after therapy. This is good news for the future of regenerative therapy.
The last time I read about this kind of therapy for the retina, was that while they able to reproduce retina cells they were unable to make them integrate, looks like they've crossed this obstacle with a breakthrough.
