New Tinnitus + Fullness in Right Ear

Hi all,

I first got tinnitus about a year and a half ago. Was a high pitched tone, varied in severity but I had eventually habituated and it really stopped bothering me.

Today I have a new tone in the right ear, a bit deeper than the left ear but now there is an accompanying feeling of fullness. It also feels as if I can not hear properly in the right ear but I'm not 100% sure.

Not really too sure what I should do. Do I just accept this and hope it passes or do I seek some help?

I have been through the whole thing before of seeing an audiologist/GP's/ENT's/MRI's etc. so not sure if it is worth going down this path again. Last time I got zero answers.

Any help would be appreciated.

Cause of initial tinnitus?

I'm not sure. I had all sorts of strange symptoms happening when the tinnitus started and no doctor could officially diagnose anything. In addition to T, my ears frequently click when talking and swallowing.

I think I can handle this new T, but I am struggling with this sensation of pressure and fullness.

Sounds like ETD. Eustachian Tubes Dysfunction

At the height of the problems I was having a year and a half ago, my ears were fluttering when trying to fall asleep. As far back as I remember, whenever sound is coming into my left ear only, my right ear vibrates/hammers/flutters, which is uncomfortable but not painful.

I suspect I could have some ETD/Tensor Tympani/Stapedial problem.

I have seen 2 ENT's that did not mention any of this but then again, I think my main concern was the tinnitus at the time.

I also kind of always thought it may be a viral problem as me and my girlfriend got tinnitus around the same time which was super weird and confusing.

Thanks for your suggestions @Dana and @SilverSpiral.

Maybe there are some chemtrailing, or electromagnetic experimentation going on in your city, and you as a couple, being very attuned to the finer aspects of the human experience, had these symptoms develop as a result of the attacks happening to your area of living.
I'm joking of course...to an extent, but there are people who claim their T spikes around wifi routers and the such...you never know.

You and your girlfriend didn't have any recent loud noise exposure?

No, this happened a while ago but no loud noise exposure that I know of. She hardly ever wears headphones and does not go out to any clubs or anything like that, so I feel it is very unlikely.

I now seem to have some kind of REACTIVE tinnitus which I did not have before. I feel like I can hear a loud high pitched sound in the right ear when there is external noise. Sigh :(

Ok so not sure if anybody cares or can help, but here is an update: The feeling of fullness has mostly subsided but I am left with a kind of unpleasant low pitched drone sound when I push on my right earlobe. In addition, these past couple of days I have felt somewhat crappy and tired.

Something is clearly wrong with my ears or my Eustachian tubes or brain or whatever, and I fear that it will keep getting worse or I will develop new tones. As most of you know, it is not fun or easy to deal with. A year and a half ago when this all started, I had all sorts of crazy symptoms such as tingling sensation in hands/feet, fatigue, insomnia. All of these things subsided but I can't seem to figure the big picture, or what is/was going on.

Should I see an ENT again and try and get this resolved? A GP? Anything?
