I started Mirtazapine a little over a week ago. On the first day, I took 15 mg, which was way too much and significantly increased my tinnitus perception. I reduced the dose to 7.5 mg for the next three days, but the same thing happened—my perception increased, and a low-end humming sound started in my left ear. I decided to discontinue the medication.
Detoxing, even after just four days, was awful. I experienced lots of new random sounds. My tinnitus had always been localized to my left ear, but I started noticing some sounds in my right ear as well, which was super disturbing for me.
The most significant issue is this low-end hum—around 60 Hz—in my left ear. I've been off the drug for eight days now. Has anyone else experienced new tinnitus tones during or after taking Mirtazapine? Is this likely to resolve? My old tinnitus was bad enough, but this new development is overwhelming for my brain to process right now.
Thanks in advance!
