Cause of Tinnitus
Meniere's
Hello Everyone: I was diagnosed with Meniere's in 2003 after several months of vertigo and ear related symptoms. After several yrs of remission, it's back again. It was gone so long that I had myself convinced that the diagnosis was wrong and that I had a virus of some sort. I guess not; here I am again.

The tinnitus this time is deafening and I can hardly leave the house. I can barely stand the loudness. I was on Topirimate years ago which seemed to help with the vertigo and started it again yesterday. If anyone has any experience with this drug or any other drugs which they find helpful, could you please write in. I live alone and the hours are so long with this horrible disease. Thank you.

@dawnbarkhouse,
Hi Dawn,
I have had Meniere's for a really long time about 12-14 years.
I take Betahistine.
Cinnarazine 15mg for Menieres can reduce the tinnius for a lot of people and can be taken with Betahistine.
Most of my symptoms have gone now but left with hearingloss and sever bilateral tinnitus and balance issues.
I hope your meds start to work soon for you and so sorry it has flared up again.
Try to eat and keep your fluids up and rest when feel unsteady.
love glynis x

Hey dawn!
im sorry to hear you are going through this,
but just as it went away in 2003, it will surely go away again
it shall pass.
try to find the right medication, keep your fluids up & try not to add salt to your food.
keep busy, take the attention away from tinnitus.
treat yourself like you will treat a friend going through a difficult moment.
Sleep well, watch movies and do things you enjoy the most.
