Being Born
I'm Vicki. I'm only 22, but I've had T for as long as I remember. In fact, I didn't realize it wasn't normal until I was around 10 years old.
I've done plenty to aggravate this thing, headphones cranked up, going to concerts etc. Hell, my current job involves 60+ barking dogs, something even the best ear plugs cannot hope to compete with.
I struggled with depression and GAD for a long time, and only recently discovered that they are also linked to T. My anti-depressants help take the edge off, but I find more and more lately the endless ringing drives me close to the edge of sanity. I'm just here to talk to people who get it.

Hi Vicki!
I'm 23 and I got T 9 years ago listening to loud music with shitty headphones. This holiday during a night out I forgot my earplugs and it got worse. It's louder now and stresses me out, the only relief I have is that it gets better with time as your life passes by. Try to live life at max and just life with the T. Hopefully they find a cure soon

Has it improved? It could be just a "worry spike", I've had plenty of those. However, should you forget your earplugs, don't go out. You'll just end up regretting it.

Wow you were very young when you got tinnitus. How did you get treated by doctors?

My gp didn't really seem to believe me the one time I brought it up, so I never bothered to pursue it. My mother, whose experience with T mirrors my own, went to hearing specialists who informed her that there was nothing they can do.

Hi Vicki, You are v young for this.
This may sound like no help at all,,, but I have found that it does get better,
The only way I can explain, which may sound mad is to sort of forgive it. Sort of patronise it and then try to feel above it all..
If that sounds like a load of crap the please tell me.? I am only trying to help. Chris.
