Cause of Tinnitus
Unknown - probably neck injury
Hello all,

I've very recently developed tinnitus and I am completely freaking out. I don't know what to do. I've just started working with a doctor but I am horrified that nothing will ever come of it and I will have to deal with this for the rest of my life.

I believe that my tinnitus came from cracking my neck (quite intensely) over a long period of time. Does anyone know anything about this? Any advice for a newcomer? All there any real success stories?

Neck problems can cause tinnitus so maybe get MRI with dye .
Love glynis

Work with your doctor to follow the diagnostic flowchart, so you can try to root cause your T.

I maybe completely wrong about this but I feel that unless you damaged your hearing cells via acoustic trauma, loud noise exposure, or some infection then your T should be curable, because it's a symptom of something else.

Agreed. I had ETD. I cleared up my tubes, the tinnitus gradually subsided and eventually went away after 5 and a half months.

What are you doing with your doctor regarding your tinnitus? Did it come on all of a sudden or a gradual noise you would notice off and on?

In a single day I suffered nerve damage to my jaw during a root canal from hell. The onset of tinnitus was instant and so freaking loud. It was shrill loud and never diminished.

I have read that those who have a gradual tinnitus - are able to cope easier.

You have done the right thing though by working with a doctor on your issue right away. I hope you are doing well.
