Thank you, when u said inform about jaw popping at the end. Is it necessary to say at the if they don't find any problem ? Will it affect the test if I say right at the start about my jaw.. (will they ignore other and focus on jaw?). I'll look for avoid on your page,, I'll be here

Tell them your main concern is your Tinnitus and you want to get your jaw helped with to see if it can be the cause, maybe. It's up to you to inform them of this.

It's 5:30 here in UK and I don't know I don't fall asleep even tho my eye lid feels somewhat heavy..... only slept for around an hour and half before waking up middle of night. Do you think EMT DO help with your tinnitus?

I think good ones will try to help in any way they can. Even if it's just with understanding and support.

Yes - in rare cases. If you decide to do something about the wax, make sure to not agree to a doctor using microsuction or syringing. The doctor should be able to get most of the wax out using manual tools. You will want to use special drops for at least a week to soften the wax.

They can't look at your ears and answer the question above. They can ask you about your history, and make educated guesses...

mine worsened in the first 6 months because I didn't protect my hearing well enough. I didn't wear good ear muffs when outside. so from gardeners, to telephones ringing to people using speaker phone around me, it worsened my base line. Once I started using better ear muffs and ear plugs and avoided noises from speakers, I was able to maintain my baseline and over the years its getting harder to spike my tinnitus.

I can hear mine in the shower, its that loud. But my brain has habituated extremely well and it doesn't bother me at all.

Still that loud....Can you help me right now. I feeel like it's gone worse and I cannot sleep anymore... I've only slept 2 hours today T_T. I don't know what to do anymore..

I am guessing that your noise induced T will gradually fade a bit over the next few weeks and maybe few months. Way to early to panic. However, you will probably have some remaining T to some degree. If it is classic noise induced T that is basically a "high pitched ringing" in the ears that is most noticeable when it is very quiet such as when you go to bed, a white noise device may help you with sleep. For example, you can use a sound device to softly play nature sounds like ocean waves, or the sound of rain (or both) and try and focus on those sounds instead of the ringing in your head. This may help with sleep. .....your days listening to music with headphones are over. Use earplugs when at the gym.

@Yugal Rai -- I can see you're having a difficult time. Would you by any chance be interested in learning about a simple spiritual chant (similar to OM) that I use to calm myself, and even somewhat transmute my tinnitus? Hello, is it normal to feel like your ear is being blocked? And when I focus thr ringing sound, it gets more loud and worst.... some time the worst part is my ringing gets intense all of a sudden and my ear starts to hurt littlebit.

Yes, T is weird that some folks are more effected by noise exposure than others. Really need to protect against further exposure and give this a chance to heal, which can takes months.

The general pattern is that this gets better, but does not go away.

What kind of ear plug shall I buy. Since my tinnitus started few days I'm going to start using one whenever I go out just to be safe. But don't you feel more ringing noise because of quietness ?? I'm kinda worried about this.

loud noise is damaging, ear wax isn't once it's removed.

ear wax may have triggered tinnitus that also has something to do with loud noise.

If you've gotten through 2-3 years worth of college before T then it doesn't stand a chance. Have some confidence and faith in yourself. My main suggestion would be focus on masking it rather than obsessing about it. You'll get through this. In fact, we're all going to get through this, so hang in there!

There is quite a lot of evidence that listening to music through headphones may cause or contribute to tinnitus. If this has happened to you probably the best thing to do is to stop using headphones altogether at the very least for the next few months and also to limit your loud noise exposure in everyday life as much as you can.

From what I've seen on this forum, the use of headphones is pretty controversial. Some people still use but at significantly reduced volume, others completely refrain from using them. Personally I would let my ears rest a bit until the tinnitus has settled and you feel more comfortable. There are no rules in the land of tinnitus and it is different for everybody. I have had tinnitus for 4.5 years now and I have continued to use headphones but only at very low volume. It would simply not be possible for me to work/study/relax without them. I have a dB meter that I use to test the noise level coming from my headphones, and I have them usually only around 50 dB (which is very quiet). I have also made a rule with myself that I cannot raise the volume on my computer above 10% or 15% (depending on the OS I am using). I try also not to use them consecutively for long periods. If I am in a noisy environment I will not use headphones at all as I would need to turn to volume higher to hear the music.

The beginning of tinnitus is very hard. Give your ears rest and try not to expose yourself to loud noise. I have made the mistake in the beginning of not caring about it and exposing myself to noise anyway, resulting in worse tinnitus. You should know that worrying does not help and it does get better over time. Stay strong.

You don't want to wear earplugs 24/7, as you might get ear irritation or even an infection.

Personally, I am happy about my decision to try to protect my ears whenever there was a risk of the kind of a noise that I knew from experience gave T spikes to me. But it is not a good idea to wear earplugs when the risk is low.

3M 1100 foam plugs are my plugs of choice.

Is it normal for people with tinnitus to feel like your ear is clogged or blocked..I got my ear wax removed as well but still my ear feels blocked doesn't feel free like other ear..
And I feel like my ear is sensitive now... when ever there is any sound it irritates my ear. It this normal? Will the the blocked feeling and irritation eventually fade away or get better as time progress... irritation is killing me. I've been to Gp and hospitals and all they say is "give some time and it will eventually heal. Don't get exposed to any loud sound for long period of time".... I tried to ask for EMT but they were like give some time and if it doesn't get better go to gp and get refer to EMT. Also they said something about if you feel dizziness, vomiting and headache you should directly come to hospital. So far i haven't encounter any of these but anyone in here experienced it?

Help!..... blockage and my ear gets irritated even when some talks to me. it is just me or my tiiii sound feels ..just feels like it's kinda calmed down and I am able to sleep somehow. I don't use any white noise which I was recommended by hospital. I am able to stand 1 on 1 in silent with my tinnitus without having breakdowns. Please any info about the ear irritation and feeling blockage. It's been a week now..

I have caused so much problem to my mom since my tinnitus started. She is always there at night with me when I can't sleep and always come to check me if I'm sleeping well even tho she got morning shift. Always there when I have mini breakdown.
I just want to end this soon as possible and stop her worries and take care of her. When ever I think about this at night I get mini breakdown always....
