Yes, I know what you mean about the fear and panic. When it first started for me, I felt that my life was basically over. I still have bad moments --- for me, the worst time is between 3:00 - 6:00 P.M. --- but I am trying to live my life as normally as possible.
I've been dealing with both pulsatile tinnitus and ringing tinnitus for almost 3 years; it will be three years in May. Yes, I am doing better, much better, than I was at the start. How? Well, I've found some ways to cope with it when it's at its worst. I go for a walk in the late afternoon, because that's when my PT is at its worst. That always helps! And, like you, I take various supplements. I'm taking magnesium chloride tablets (2 about 1 hour before bedtime), vitamin B-12 tablets (3 per day), vitamin D-3 (3 per day), fish oil, systemic enzymes (
Wobenzym is an example of this; the purpose of it is to reduce inflammation), moringa oliefera (because it is supposed to have great healing properties), and now I'm using a transdermal cream called AdrenaCalm. My doctor thought this would help me, since I've been diagnosed with adrenal fatigue , along with the PT.
Another thing you can do, and this can be difficult, is to find things you enjoy to distract yourself, so that you get caught up in the activity. I work crossword puzzles, play games, read, etc., to take my mind off the noise. At the beginning, I could not bring myself to read anything, or even listen to music, because I was so depressed. But, believe me, Terry, life really is still worth living! And I have a feeling you're young; you have many more years ahead of you. Stay strong, and find ways to cope. That is really the best medicine!!
