Newbie

Ashliegh, Welcome to the this unfortunate club. In a way you are one of the lucky ones. You may actually recover from your T. My T started 43 years ago this month when my hearing was damaged do to being in close proximity to an explosion in a confined space. But no matter how it started, you do survive.

Hi Albert, it truely is an unfortunate club! I'm not having a good day today, but trying my best to get through it. Tomorrow as they say is another day, so hopefully it'll be better. Thanks for your message everyone messages makes me realise that there is hope out there.

Thanks for replying, nice to hear from someone who knows how I feel. I'm digging hard but it wears you down. Tweeting birds app is helping at the minute as. well as crickets. My t doesn't seem to be masked by white noise. Glad to hear the tough days pass :)

Hi Ashleigh. I can't be doing with the white noise either. The most successful 'masking sound' for me has been 3 hours of waves downloaded from you tube. Some sounds I cannot tolerate with loud T, but lately I too have been listening to birds of which I have found one recording I like (1 hour forest sounds). A strange side effect of this has been that, in addition to the hissing sound, I can also here birds chirping most of the time now too. Freaky methinks, but at least not unpleasant. Take care.

Hi, I know the white noise is fine to a point. I'm the same I listen to birds chirping and forests sounds. At night the crickets come out on my sound box. I sometimes feel like I'm living in a wildlife centre. But at least it helps me get a good nights sleep.
