Tinnitus Since
11/2013
My tinnitus started about two weeks ago. Today I am scheduled to see an audiologist then next Tuesday an ENT. Days are bare able but the nights are real difficult. Any suggestions.

Hi AJL, welcome! Do you have a known cause for your Tinnitus? Noise, infection? For the nights try covering the Tinnitus. You can turn on a fan or soft music or white noise played through pillow speakers or anything that helps you cover the noise...

I like your introduction; short and to the point, very efficient.

Welcome AJL,
I hope that you don't have T to stay, or the old-age thing where your ears take a hit at around 60, (so i've read). Work with your doctors; maybe you'll be lucky and find a cause and a cure. People in this forum can relate. Sleeping is an issue to tackle, imo. Welcome again and check some of the posts.

Saw the audiologist yesterday, hearing for the most part is fine with some minor hearing loss in both ears. The audiologist spent a significant amount of time discussing tinnitus with me. What I found interesting is that, and I am sure you all know, that hydration is some people influences there level of tinnitus. I did share with her that my primary physician put me on Sudafed and that I have been very thirsty lately. So last night, I overly hydrated, plugged in my iPhone and listened to a track titled "JustWater" which I down loaded from another tinnitus site, and had it replay through the night. With that and my partial exhaustion, I was able to sleep through the night.
The hydration thing caused me to think about ones dietary intake. Any thoughts on things to avoid as it pertains to dietary intake that you have found that impacted your level of tinnitus. As I am new to this I hope this makes sense and I am asking this question in the correct forum. Finely, thanks to those that responded to my last post it helped me a lot.

Hi AJL I'm glad you've seen a physician regarding the Tinnitus. I'm just getting over the denial it'll sort itself out stage! I'll let you know how much stuff I'll have to do and give up to pinpoint the main culprit in this issue.
Oh and good morning USA!

Hi Scubadude, does the diving affect your t at all? I am doing a dive refresher course. I am half Cypriot, so I hope to dive the Zenobia one day, but I'm sh*t scared its gonna make the tinnitus worse?

I don't know if you're going to get an answer out of him, as he was last on this forum a year and a half ago ;)
