Does anyone know of any effective treatment that they've personally used to treat noise induced tinnitus? I don't care where in the world it is or how much it cost. Please help.

I've had tinnitus for 6 weeks and it started because of a loud concert and the overuse of headphones. It started off with ringing in my ears but now it has become more centralized. It is a lot quieter now but it is still bothersome. I've had spikes here and there.

There are no treatments to reduce the volume. Coping/habituation, lack of stress/anxiety seems to work for me. 6 weeks is a very short time and All of us understand your pain. We were there and to some degree some are still bothered.

If there are treatments to reduce the volume, please share :)

@drivera2592

@fishbone is right drivera. Go to my "started threads" and read my article titled: Tinnitus, A Personal View. There you will find suggestions that I think will help you. Also in the list is my post: Hyperacusis, As I See it.

Hope you start to feel better soon.

The 2 treatment that may help but mostly in the acute phase are prednisone (steroids) and light therapy

I say mask asap for immediate help. -- Also, cut back on salt, sugar, carbs. Basically anything that raises your blood pressure.

Exercise and don't waste time with supplements or "cures".

I also try to stay busy, play radio in car, etc. -- I have to say though, biggest help is a low salt healthy diet and exercise along with this forum's "success stories".
