Hi there everyone. I'm Joy, 23, and living in Northern California. I've had pulsatile tinnitus for two years now and I've come to the point where I've been managing it and living my life despite this unbearable noise. Having discovered this lovely forum two nights ago makes me feel a lot more hopeful than I have before.

I just wanted to drop in and say hi and thank you all for support and posts. It's been so nice knowing that I'm not alone in this battle, and it really makes living with PT a little more bearable.

Anyway, hi :)

Anyway, hi :)
Have you Checked out the positivity thread? :) and I'm glad you're on the road to habituation. Soon you'll be sitting in a room and not even care about the Tinnitus :) living a life that you were meant to live!

Hi, Joy,

We're glad you've joined our forum; it's a wonderful place to come for information and support! The directors and moderators are the best, too!!!

I have pulsatile tinnitus, too, and know what it's like to live with it. I'm so glad to see you're taking a positive approach, and getting out there and living your life. It sounds like you are definitely on the right track to habituation.

Do you have both PT and ringing tinnitus? I have both, and sometimes one seems to be worse than the other. But I've learned that taking a positive approach and distracting oneself is the best medicine there is for overcoming this condition. If you've been checked by a doctor, and don't have any underlying conditions that may have caused your PT, then you are definitely taking the right approach.

Best wishes, and welcome!

Hi Karen!
I only have PT actually. I'm sorry to hear you have both. I can't imagine!
My doctor has ordered some tests but I'm just not quite satisfied with the results. I don't think he quite understands much about T in general, let alone PT, and told me to learn how to live with it.

Hi, Queen Joy,

Yes, that "learn how to live with it" response is pretty common when doctors don't believe they can help us with this condition. What kinds of tests has your doctor ordered for you? Have you had them yet, and what kinds of results did you get? If you have copies of your scans, you could consider sending them or taking them to another doctor for a second opinion. I've heard of cases where one doctor didn't see anything, and when the scans were read by a specialist, they found something that was treatable.

It sounds like you are doing a very good job of learning to live with this condition, and are taking a positive approach to it. You've come to the right place for support, and we're glad you're here!!!

Welcome QJ,

Yes, this site has helped many T sufferers, including me. It always amazes me, how many people have this! Young and old and for various reasons. It's just ripe for a cure!

Keep the faith, in the meantime!

God bless,

Sailboardman
