Of all the common pain killers out there, which one is the safest for us tinnitus sufferers, maybe by rank?

I've been using Tylenol, but I was curious.

Be careful, APAP in Tylenol is ototoxic and can cause tinnitus in high doses.

Yes, I'm aware, I just mean for the odd 1 day headaches and what not. I can't find any information out there.

APAP = Tylenol. It can also cause liver failure in high doses.
@Patch101
I'm not a fan of Tylenol, but if it hasn't caused you any spikes so far it's probably okay. Just take it sparingly and not in high dosages or with alcohol.

Ok, what would you do?

I've got a little anxiety over what to take. My T came about over combining to many meds. Namely a Antiboitic (clarithromycin), Motrin (at max dosage per day), over the counter sleeping pills, and steroid inhaler over a 7 day period. Turned out I had whooping cough for 3-4 months, and the anti-boitic was pointless (thanks Doc's)

I thought Tylenol at low dosage was the safest?

Yes low dose is safe... ibuprofen causes tinnitus easily.. as does aspirin and naproxen.

I also suffer with pressure in my head (that full heavy head feeling) and have read that all pain killers can make Tinnitus worse.

Has anybody out there found a headache pain killer that appears to be relatively safe for us sufferers?

Is there a safe (headache) pain killer that is unlikely to increase tinnitus volume...?

@Jazzer I take 400 ibuprofen and 3 hours later I take 2 tablets of 500 Tylenol and I am ok with that. The problem is that it doesn't help my headaches. I need something stronger? I have pressure headaches.

Dr. prescribed Meloxicam 15mg but I have not taken it yet. Not sure.

People with migraine headaches, what can help??do you take??

@OnceUponaTime - thanks for the info OUT.
Fortunately I do not suffer with migraine, just fullness and occasional headaches.
I usually just sit it out, or sometimes take half of a co-codamol tablet.
(500 mg paracetamol/30 mg codeine.)
I can't take ibuprophen - kills my stomach.

Hope life is treating you okay.
love
Jazzer
