Hi there

Have been gone for quite a while, but am back with quite an urgent question.

I have read many stories and opinions on the effect of various drugs on T. After getting T in 2015, I simply refused to take any drugs. Worked well until today. But now I am facing a problem: One of my finger joints is severly inflammed. Today it got so painful that I called a doctor. She insists that I take Ibuprofen 400mg (3x 3 days) to stop inflammation.

I am very concerned about the use of any painkiller due to its potential effect on T. Ibuprofen is known to have an effect on T in rare cases (i.e. trigger T). Mefenamic acid too, even though it seems a bit more save.

How do others handle that? Any experience to share?
I cannot be the only one with T that has to take painkillers...

Well Ibuprofen helps with both the pain and the inflammation. I can't think of any other medication that would be more 'safe' that would treat both. Maybe naproxen sodium, but it's in the same boat.

It's probably safe.

Thanks for the advice

Well, I decided to skip Ibuprofen, but went with half a dose of a mefenamic acid med. That was one week ago. Could not feel any effect in the first two days with regard to T, but am now having a pretty intense spike that has lasted since. Could be related, does not have to...hard to say
