These pictures are lovely and sad at the same time. Great choices.

Thank you @Jcb - there's so much suffering in this life, as we all know for sure.
A good job there are some high lights as well.
Please feel free to add any photos you like.

Just a little tip by the way.
If you want to draw anybody's attention to your post, you should address your post to them using the @.
As I did above.
@Jcb
Best wishes
Dave

@Jazzer I always forget to do that, but I will try to from now on :)
The bear and elephant pictures are heartbreaking.
Ps love me some Billie Holiday.

@Jcb - Billie Holliday and Louis Armstrong are the musical loves of my life.
I have virtually every single track they recorded.
(Bit pathetic, but there we are.)
Yes, those poor creatures locked up for an entire lifetime. I hate zoos, and in third world countries they would be better of dead.

A while ago I went to a photographic exhibition of Raymond Depardon. What I liked most about what I saw was his series of photos in the city of Glasgow in the 80s. The working class neighborhood, the life of the slums, happiness and sadness mixed

I grew up on jazz/soul and opera my grandmother adored jazz. My favourites are Billie Holiday and Lena Horne just something about their voices that gets me into my feelings.
Agree about zoos I'm not a fan at all, I know some zoos try and save certain species that are close to extinction and have better facilities to keep them but I just hate the whole situation.

@fran dana - thanks for coming in - I was feeling a bit lonely there for a bit!

Really atmospheric set of pictures.
I particularly like the bubble gum one,
and the 'winos.'
Hopefully some more members will join us x

@Jcb lovely photos.

Try to remember to tag me using the @
@Jazzer - or I will miss it.
That is the only way to draw attention to your post.

@Jazzer I was just posting the pictures, not to anybody in particular. But i should @ I have a bad habit of not doing that haha

Yes - me too.
I love your picture by the way.
You would think a photographic scrapbook would appeal to plenty of people, but it hasn't really done so.
Whether it's art, photography or literature, I gravitate towards an element of human interaction regarding relationships.
That's why I love getting to know people.
Please post as many as you like Ema. x

@Jazzer, the "Strictly no Elephants" is a wonderful photo!

I am craving silence today, thus the new avatar. Some days are better than others, not my best today. This photo resonates with how I am feeling about my T.....it's a big bully....

Hi Ema - is it okay to call you that?
A great and poignant photo.
That little kiddy is a hero.
We are all forced to be reluctant heroes of course.
Mine is hard today - feeling a bit tearful.
There is no question that this is such a hateful thing.
Such a good job that we have this amazing site where we can help to support each other.
I wish you a better day Ema,
Dave x

Of course it is okay to call me Ema, @Jazzer.

Oh my, just too hard today for some reason. So sorry that you are experiencing the same. Tears? Let them flow, my own haven't stopped in the last couple of hours.

I wish you a better day, too.

Ema~
