Sleep and tinnitus is like a vicious circle!!

Tinnitus spiked a week before.
Not slept for a minute last night.
I don't want to be on sleeping pills.

Suggest me ways!!

@Michael Leigh
It started around this time in august last year.
May be stress and anxiety or may be my medical posting as an ug doctor.
I never got to know the cause.
My hearing seems fine as told by audiologist.
I cannot sleep due to T and in return tinnitus intensity increases and I get caught in this vicious circle.

I dont want to be on sleeping pills.
If you are worried about getting addicted, look into amitrityline. It can be used to help you sleep. It is non-addictive, and it didn't make me feel drowsy the next morning.

Have you tried sound enrichment (e.g., nature sounds) (to give you something else to listen to besides T)? Cricket sounds work well for high pitched T.

Loud noise is the most common cause of tinnitus although other things can cause it too. If you were listening to music regularly through headphones and at high volumes, which often people are not aware of, this is the likely cause. Going to places such as clubs and concerts where loud music is played can do it too. The information in my articles might be helpful.

I gave you a huge long reply in the conversation/email, so I'll keep it shorter here. ;)

Sounds like you're super stressed when I got like that with my T L-Tryptophan, magnesium, melatonin, chamomile T and such didn't work.

Hibiscus T is potent and if you take it 30 min before you're going to sleep (you can try an hour as well) it will knock you out. Especially if you haven't been getting proper sleep. I mix in honey to make it taste better, and it won't give you a sugar rush. (Be aware that it lowers blood pressure so don't over due it if you have other health issues. If you google it will give you a list of things it helps with, though ironically sleep isn't something that makes the top 10 with it.) Once I started to be able to sleep again I switched to the other stuff mentioned above.

Also, positive thoughts. (I've put that in the email.) I also put in a list of some great melatonin/serotonin rich foods to start eating that will help in the long run. Good luck and I hope you find something that works. :huganimation:

Hello !

At the beginning, I used to put the Fan every night to try to cover my T... It helped !

Also let my computer on with either Rain sounds or Water falling sounds... ;)

You will get through it don't worry too much !

Peace !
