Just wanted to see how many of us can change there T volume by moving their jaw. I can change it however I don`t consider myself a TMJ patient. Or maybe I should?

this is the purpose of the POLL, to see how many of us can modulate it and to see if it is considered TMJ or just an extra feature of Tinnitus in general.

Mine too. But my tinnitus is synchron with heatbeat. No whooshing but a high pitch sound. I can change this PT from my right ear to left ear by moving my neck. Pushing on head open jaws etc is changing my tinnitus ..

moving my jaw to the left reduced the sound, open mine mouth wide open reduced the sound. Moving mine jaw forward the sound increased. Pushing on my left skul the sound increased. Mine T sound is a high hissing sound. Days when i only can hear it in silent and days when i hear it over the tv. Never stable.

If I push push my jaw forward the volume increases alot and sound in general changes ... as long as I hold the jaw in this position it stays like that ... when I release it goes down again (however leaves a bit of louder T for a little while) ... is this TMJ? Should look this stuff up cause know very little about it.

Yes, this is very common to over 80% of people with tinnitus. Somatic T. Many people tend to associate this to TMJ but very few people actually have TMJ. Almost no one has perfect jaw alignment and many people with T get convinced by the movement of their jaws and T increase and their dentists that they have TMJ or some related form. In the end, they spend lots of money on TMJ treatments and appliances that do not work.

Could be a change to the eustachian tube.If I tense my neck it greatly affects my T .I think mine is due to an infection hope it did not do damage it seems to be fading. If it does not fade in the next few weeks then its here to stay and I will go back to believe it is a nerve brain via auditory problem like most doctors think.T is a hard one to treat but one can manage it. H mabe another animal all together.Danny Boy and Vikin think they have a cure w keppra will wait and see.Wish them we'll with it but as of yet I don't have H.Susan Shore has a great video on the somatic nervous system and T.

Viking is already cured, as he's off keppra and his h hasn't came back.
