Just wondering how much people's tinnitus stays the the same no matter if they are in a silent room or room with noise.

I prefer noise going.

Mine stays the same. It's just when other sounds are going on I don't notice it near as much or not at all.

It stays the same in a silent room or walking around outside with moderate noise. But if I put earplugs in my tinnitus screams. It doesn't seem to react as much to wearing earmuffs even though they block out about as much sound as the earplugs.

It doesn't generally change. Though if there's noise I generally don't notice it as much. I may even forget about it for a little while.

I thought about voting no because it seems like it disappears during social actives at times and isn't a matter of masking, but I doubt that answer would convey my feelings properly.

Mine sort of reacts to humming noises. It tends to flicker when I'm next to a fan or something. The crazy thing is that if I'm in complete silence it calms down (It's almost like my brain absorbs it), I tend to sleep with ear plugs (or soundproof earmuffs) on days when it's flaring up on me. The sink is always a good go-to masker haha

In my case there are variations in the intensity of the tinnitus irrespective of whether in a silent room or otherwise. each person will have their own unique response to their ever changing environment.it is not just the absence or presence of environmental sounds that affects the intensity, one's emotional state( among may other factors) can have an impact as well.

I feel like spending a long time in quiet places makes T louder after a while. I can hear the T more and I get stressed out.
This is what exactly happens to me. When I spend time in quite rooms I feel my T gets louder and makes me stress out so much.
