Post Your Favorite Songs

If you would like an easy listening album one of my all time favorites is by Norah Jones. I listen to it every time I get in the car.

That's some serious candle-lit date-night music.

Maybe not lyrically, but musically it makes me think of this song. It's actually in the same key.

I remember that song. The Rolling Stones have so many songs that I call my favorites, it's hard to pick one, but if I must, it would be "Angie".

Yes, the Norah Jones song is quite beautiful. The entire album is beautiful to listen to. She is an extremely talented young woman, I enjoyed this concert of hers so much.

I can tell @emmalee likes the singer-songwriter stuff so I thought I'd share this Youtuber from Russia, Alyona Yarushina. I donate to her Patreon page because I am so impressed with her singing (plus keys and recording). When she posts new videos it really lifts my spirit.

She mostly does classic hard rock but she does mix it up. Here's one of her softer covers.

She is so, so talented. I had no idea who she was, never heard of her until now. Thanks! Is there any song she can't do, beautifully.

Love this one.......

Anyone of a certain age remembers a piece of instrumental music that was used prior to coming attractions back in the 70s. This was then picked up as a tongue in cheek homage in Tarantino movies (including Once Upon a Time in Hollywood). A while back I figured out there was actually a full song with vocals that uses this backing. It blew my mind.

Great song, for sure, Em. My other fave of theirs is "Take It Easy." I like the line "Don't let the sound of your own wheels drive you crazy." To me, that symbolizes the self-sabotaging negative thoughts that can undermine my peace of mind.

So now I have to say that "this song" is my favorite, Jim. Heck, I love everything they do, they are all my favorite songs.

That's the thing about music, we can all find a lyric that resonates with us, just like the one you quoted. Sometimes I will hear a song on the radio, almost always while driving, and it will take me back to an exact moment in my life when I heard the song for the first time. I can recall every emotion and remember exactly what I was doing and thinking.

Music is therapy, in a good way, always a good way, even when we remember the sad times. We need to experience the sad times in order to appreciate the happy times in our lives.
