Well, I guess Dexy's midnight runners is the kind of band that brings generations together . If only Kevin Rowland had the time to see this correspondence about his music being timeless on a regular tinnitus forum, he would be absolutelyThis made me laugh out loud. I was a shoolgoing 12-year old when this came out... 38 years ago
At the time it came out I was just getting interested in music but didn't take much notice of it as far as I can remember. Probably because it was too pop orientated, whereas I was just beginning to get into rock. But it's a great song. Been playing it over and over... not very loud... obviously!
Maybe better to knock music completely on the head, but i get bouts of nostalgia and want to listen to things from the past. Luckily for my ears it doesn't happen to often.
I was singing the song to myself in my head as I lay sleeping last night. It was as if it was on autoplay.Well, I guess Dexy's midnight runners is the kind of band that brings generations together . I wasn't interested in 80s pop/rock at first. My brother grew up in the 80's and introduced me to 80's Brit pop and new wave when I was about 12 years old. I can still remember as if it was yesterday: we listened to Visage's ''Fade to grey'', I knew right then that I was instantly hooked to that kind of music. The love for britpop and new wave hasn't faded since that very moment.
Maybe you're developing musical tinnitus? It's a weird story, but I've heard that some people hear songs all day long after noise trauma. Come on Eileen sounds more pleasant to have than the sound of an airplane or a train that is consistently hitting the breaks .I was singing the song to myself in my head as I lay sleeping last night. It was as if it was on autoplay.
Maybe this will be my way to enjoy music from now on?
Knowing my luck it will be found in future research that replaying songs in one's head leads to brain cell death and worsening tinnitus
No, it's just me singing it to myself.Maybe you're developing musical tinnitus? It's a weird story, but I've heard that some people hear songs all day long after noise trauma. Funny, I've just seen this. I was having a nostalgic moment the other day and listened to Madness.Madness!
There's nothing like British SKA in this world.
@Tatsopa, The National are one of my favourite bands! Great music.
Alizee! She's the one who introduced me to the world of French dance pop I still remember that I was playing with toys in my sister's room back when I was a kid in 2001, while MTV was on in the background. I immediately stopped playing when I heard the song ''Moi ... Lolita'' by Alizee and listened to it all the way, as if I was trance. I thought the language was so incredibly beautiful + the dance music was damn tasty to listen to. I couldn't comprehend all of it, but from that moment on I decided to learn French to gain a better understanding of the lyricsLove this song.
I watched the other video you posted today. It's from listening to her that I may start learning French (after I have passed some more Russian exams).Alizee!
